Corning Incorporated in Reynosa, Mexico, is seeking a seasoned Procurement Supervisor to oversee purchasing and sourcing activities, ensuring best cost, quality, and delivery conditions for materials, equipment, and services. You will supervise the purchasing team, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive strategic sourcing initiatives that align with business goals.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement, or Sourcing.
  • Experience supervising personnel or coordinating teams.
  • Experience in supplier negotiations and contract management.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement and sourcing processes.
  • Experience with supplier evaluation and performance management.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and demand planning.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Understanding of procurement KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced English communication skills preferred.

Responsabilidades

  • Supervise the purchasing team and establish work priorities to ensure efficient procurement operations.
  • Manage the procurement process for materials, equipment, supplies, and services.
  • Coordinate pricing updates, commercial terms, delivery schedules, and contracts with the Sourcing team.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers to ensure service, quality, and cost objectives are achieved.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and support Global Supply Management (GSM) initiatives.
  • Monitor purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Analyze inventory levels and coordinate purchasing activities according to demand and planning requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives, cost-saving projects, and continuous improvement activities within the supply chain.
  • Resolve supplier-related issues, including delivery delays, quality concerns, and commercial discrepancies.
  • Prepare and analyze procurement KPIs, including cost savings, lead times, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, Finance, Quality, and other functional teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.

Role Purpose

Join our team as a Procurement Supervisor and play a critical role in ensuring the efficient procurement of materials, products, and services that support business operations. This position offers the opportunity to lead procurement activities, build strong supplier partnerships, and contribute to cost optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.

What is your role?

As a Procurement Supervisor, you will oversee purchasing and sourcing activities, ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and services at the best cost, quality, and delivery conditions. You will supervise the purchasing team, collaborate with key stakeholders, manage supplier relationships, and support strategic sourcing initiatives that align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Experiences/Education - Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Business, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement, or Sourcing.
  • Previous experience supervising personnel or coordinating teams.
  • Experience in supplier negotiations and contract management.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement and sourcing processes.
  • Experience with supplier evaluation and supplier performance management.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and demand planning.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Understanding of procurement KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced English communication skills preferred.
