PTD Engineering Manager

Location: Zapopan

Job Objective:

Ensure the efficient management of PTD resources in Zapopan, facilitating testing, prototype development, and engineering support for production. Coordinate the transition of new ETO projects, ensuring their seamless implementation, and strengthen the connection between engineering and development teams in various locations to enhance collaboration and innovation within SKF Seals.

Job Requirements:

Education: BS degree in an engineering discipline.

Bilingual: English & Spanish

Skills: Analytical, Negotiating, Communication

Knowledge of ERP tools: Yes

Experience: Familiar with SKF Seals product range, engineering and manufacturing capabilities and processes. Familiar with automotive engineering, development, and launch tools and processes such as ETO, APQP, DFMEA, DFSS, DVP&R, etc.

Job Functions:

1. Leads the PTD organization in the Zapopan, MX facility.
2. Manages the materials aging and materials testing lab supporting active ETO and development projects.
3. Oversees the prototype operations department producing samples for ETO and development projects.
4. Manages mold design and product engineering resources for various projects.
5. Coordinates with PTD resources in Elgin & SLC to support customer programs and product launches.
6. Ensures all product launches follow ETO procedures, are completed on time, and documentation is archived properly.
7. Engages with manufacturing to identify improvements to reduce scrap, increase throughput, and reduce costs.
