Job summary

Ford of Mexico is launching the PD Academy in Vehicle Propulsion Systems Engineering. You will use data engineering, analytics, and foundational data science to help VPSE teams make informed decisions about fuel economy, emissions, and performance, while ensuring secure, reliable data solutions on GCP.

You will build data pipelines, support GCP services, and create Tekton-based pipelines. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for production-ready insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Experience with data processing, analysis, and visualization.
• Familiarity with Python and SQL.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, especially GCP.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines and transformation workflows for powertrain datasets.
• Develop and support GCP solutions using Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery.
• Create and maintain Tekton CI/CD pipelines for analytics code, data workflows, and infrastructure changes.
• Implement event-driven processing with retry, monitoring, and idempotency practices.
• Support Cloud Storage design, including naming conventions, IAM, lifecycle and retention policies.
• Apply data quality, metadata, lineage, and documentation practices; validate pipeline integrity.
• Develop dashboards and reports that communicate trends, anomalies, and insights.
• Partner with calibration, controls, test, IT, and cybersecurity stakeholders to understand needs.
• Integrate security and release controls into delivery workflows; support monitoring and incident response.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production readiness.
• Continuously learn and apply best practices in data engineering.
