A leading global automotive supplier is seeking a Project Purchasing Specialist in Guadalajara, Mexico. This full-time role involves managing procurement activities and supplier strategies to achieve quality, cost, and delivery targets. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, extensive experience in purchasing within an automotive setting, and strong analytical skills. Knowledge of SAP and excellent English communication skills are essential.

Formación

  • 5 years of experience related to quality of purchasing parts in an automotive environment.
  • 2+ years of commercial and technical project management experience.
  • Knowledge of Plastic and Machined Components.

Project Purchasing Specialist - Part Family Management

Full-time

Responsibilities
  • Promote and support the establishment of a reliable and competitive local supply base
  • Active participation in definition of product related supplier strategy
  • Manage procurement activities for platform and application projects - includes target cost setting.
  • Responsible for achievement of quality, cost and delivery targets.
  • Prepare supplier selection - includes RFQ process, supplier evaluation and communication, and participation in sourcing decisions.
  • Interface with: Central Purchasing, material field related purchasing, quality, engineering department and Business Unit
  • Ensure preventive quality planning (PQP) for project specific new parts and coordination of their release.
  • Promote and support RPP activities.
  • Change management for procured parts.
  • Supports series production and after-market when needed.
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 30%
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s Degree (preferably in MechanicalEngineering)
  • 5 years experience related to quality of purchasing parts in an automotive environment.
  • 2+ years of commercial and technical project management experience.
  • Advanced English Skills
  • Knowledge of Plastic Components / Machined Components
  • Experience in product costing
  • Experienced in managing SAP system
  • Analytical and structural approach.
  • Work well independently, highly motivated, results oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
