Project Designer Role
The Project Designer will oversee the entire project design-build documentation and administration for assigned projects, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and schedule adherence. They will ensure successful project design, keep stakeholders informed, and facilitate seamless teamwork. The role involves utilizing design skills, brand expertise, organizational abilities, and leadership to support hotel rehab teams and clients. Additionally, the Project Designer will assist estimating, purchasing, and construction teams with onsite design challenges, submittals, and product changes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field
- 5-7 years postgraduate experience in an Architect’s or Interior Designer’s office
- High proficiency in Revit
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Sketch-up, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, etc.
- Experience in producing construction documents, including complete working drawings
- Familiarity with building codes and accessibility standards
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Effective communication across departments and with clients
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Collaborative work ethic
- Hospitality (hotel) design experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or professional degree and/or professional certifications
- Experience with design-build project delivery
Job Description
Design Document Production
- Collaborate with management to plan and produce design documentation
- Review project scope and proposals to establish parameters
- Create schematic, DD, and CD design packages for approvals and permitting
- Manage plan checks and permit responses
- Mentor and manage the Design Build Coordinator
Client Support
- Participate in project calls and maintain client relationships
Design, Procurement, & Compliance
- Lead site surveys and develop design directions
- Coordinate with estimating, purchasing, and external consultants
