Job Description

The Cost Engineer will be responsible for developing technical variable and tooling costs for an assigned set of components and systems using activity-based costing methodologies, working from BOM (Bill of Materials), drawings, and samples. Engineers provide subject matter expertise to support engineering and purchasing teams, as well as vehicle program leadership throughout all development phases. The Engineer must analyze supplier quotes and reach agreements on appropriate costs. Additionally, the Engineer should collaborate with Design to Cost initiatives, benchmarking, and direct material and tooling costs.

The requested activities include:

1. Supporting projects with cost analysis from early development phases to the serial life of the component domain.
2. Developing cost estimates supporting technical estimation and/or should-cost analysis based on technical features, specifications, and Bill of Materials.
3. Proposing economic savings and optimization during vehicle milestones and cost target development.
4. Actively collaborating as a cross-functional team member with Engineering, Vehicle Team, and Purchasing, providing data-driven cost deltas for target and quote gap closure.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• 2-3 years of experience in design, release, or processing roles; or relevant credentials with experience in developing variable and/or tooling costs for automotive components.
• Experience with Teamcenter and NX management.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple programs and cost details simultaneously.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with English as the official language.
• Ability to work effectively in a global team.
