Job Description

Wood Mexico is recruiting a Project Control Manager to join its Projects – Process and Chemical Team, focusing on engineering, procurement, and construction projects in the Chemical, Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial, and Cement industries. Responsibilities
  1. Set and implement the local Project Control functional plan aligned with the business grouping plans and ensure effective communication.
  2. Manage the Project Control function across the operating unit, including Planning & Scheduling, Post Tender Estimating, Cost Management, Risk Analysis, and Change Control.
  3. Ensure all projects comply with procedures, processes, guidelines, and templates defined at the BU/global level.
  4. Identify and audit high-risk projects, propose corrective actions, and follow up on improvements.
  5. Integrate global/BU procedures, processes, guidelines, and templates into local documentation.
  6. Ensure local procedures are compliant with global standards.
  7. Drive continuous improvement and share good practices across projects and the wider business.
  8. Identify staffing needs and implement internal and external resourcing plans, including development and succession planning.
  9. Organize resource availability within the operating unit and across other units.
  10. Recruit, select, manage performance, develop skills, and ensure competency of project controls resources.
  11. Participate in the global project controls community of practice.
  12. Implement and embed project control systems aligned with global strategy and lead systems training.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Advanced expertise in all project control disciplines, gained through extensive industry experience, including leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of Project Management principles and techniques.
  • Expertise in Project Control principles and techniques.
  • Proficiency with manual and computerized business control applications.
  • Experience with relevant project types.
  • Deep knowledge of Cost Control, Estimating, Change Control, Risk Analysis, and Planning.
  • Proven ability to drive results and influence change.
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in Mexico without sponsorship.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent in English, especially for technical and business communication.
