Position Summary
This role’s primary mission is to plan, coordinate and control within the production area all required activities to ensure the company’s product is manufactured and delivered on time according to customer requirements, and main KPI’s are met.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to production staff to ensure that area’s KPIs are met.
- Direct responsibility to ensure a safe work environment.
- Coordinate and control all activities to maintain or improve quality level of the product and scrap control.
- Achieve daily production plan and shipment plan.
- Control production efficiency, maintaining approved headcount and efficient use of production resources.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve KPIs, production processes and work environment.
- Select and hire staff within the approved budget; develop and cross-train production staff.
- Maintain a respectful relationship with subordinates and co-workers.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Accomplish daily production plan and shipment, ensuring KPIs for safety, quality, efficiency and people.
- Promote and conduct continuous improvement activities on the production floor.
- Create a strong team environment among production staff by reinforcing cross-training and motivation.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in a manufacturing environment in leadership roles with staff supervision.
- Strong background in Production, Production Engineering and/or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Strong bilingual communication skills (oral, written and translation).
- Analytical/data driven with ability to demonstrate tangible results.
- Solid knowledge in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
- Solid project management skills; hands-on mindset; able to meet task deadlines and work under pressure.
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Production Management or related discipline is desired.
- MS Office proficiency; strong knowledge in Excel is desired.
- Interpersonal and social skills with the ability to connect with people at all levels in a respectful and professional way.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the furniture industry.
- Knowledge in sewing, wood assembly, upholstery areas.
- Experience in wood routing machines.
- Solid knowledge in MRP software applications (AX, SAP or similar).
- Experience in product transfer and operation growth.
- Bachelor degree in Engineering or Production Management or related discipline is desired.
Working Conditions
Occasional evening and weekend work to cope with special requirements of the production plan, customer requirements and/or peak season.
