OPmobility is seeking a Product Designer in Mexico to lead design efforts for assigned programs from quotation through manufacturing and service. You will model in 3D, create detailed drawings, and coordinate with suppliers and customers to ensure manufacturability and conformance to standards.

The role requires 3–5 years in product design, automotive context preferred, and fluency in English. Occasional travel may be required, with a fast-paced environment and strict deadlines.

Formación

• Engineering degree in Industrial Design or related field.
• Fluent English is required.
• Experience in automotive industry preferred.
• Travel up to 5% (domestic and international) may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Lead product design across programs from quotation to manufacturing and service.
• 3D modeling, design changes, and drawing creation using customer CAD data standards.
• Interface with suppliers, model shops and customers to ensure best design.
• Consider manufacturing/assembly during design and release drawings to suppliers and customers.
• Support DFMEA, DVP&R, BOM and engineering timelines with issue-resolution actions.
• Collaborate with other development groups to provide required technologies.

Work is performed in a fast-paced environment within tight time constraints.

MISSION

Responsible for the development and technical requirements of the design for assigned programs. Act as design lead contact for programs in different stages of the production (quotation, development, manufacturing, service). Work is performed in a fast-paced environment within tight time constraints.

Responsabilities

Responsibility 1: Product Design

• Activity 1.1 Conduct 3D modeling, design changes and create drawings using customer CAD system data banking standards.
• Activity 1.2 Acts as interface with suppliers, model shops and customer to ensure best possible design.
• Activity 1.3 Considers manufacturing and assembly concerns when designing.
• Activity 1.4 Attends meetings on design issues and update files and directories.
• Activity 1.5 Release drawings / math data to suppliers for the manufacture of tooling, prototypes, components and assembly aids associated with the program.
• Activity 1.6 Release drawings / math data to the customer per customer’s standards.
• Activity 1.7 Responsible to ensure design meets OPmobility Global Product Standards

Responsibility 2: Product Development

• Activity 2.1 Supports PAE for DFMEA, DVP&R, BOM and engineering timeline including action plans for issue resolution.
• Activity 2.2 Supports PAE for activities related to prototype parts
• Activity 2.3 Supports PAE to interface with other Development groups (Components, Materials, Process and Systems) to ensure the provision of the technologies required to support the program.
• Activity 2.4 Supports PAE for to make recommendations for product or test improvements to the program team to continuously drive towards lower cost and increased quality within the required timing.

PROFILE

Personal Background

• Engineering degree: Industrial Design preferable. Mechanical, Automotive, Industrial engineering as alternative.
• Must prove fluent English
• Experience in automotive industry preferable
• Travel might be required – less than 5% (Domestic and International)

Job Technical Skills

• Microsoft Office tools
• Overall 3-5 years experience in similar position
• Experience in GD&T, BOM.
• Experience in product design required (Plastics blow molding, preferable)
• Experience in Catia - CAD program for automotive/manufacturing design is required (Solidworks, CREO, NX, preferable)
• Experienced in Safety Components or Fuel Systems components, preferable
• Experience in PLM programs (SAP, TeamCenter), preferable.
