Formación

  • 5+ years of supply chain experience, preferably as a master scheduler or production planner.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish with proven communication skills.

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Position Objective

Works in collaboration with supply chain, product line, commercial and plant manufacturing leaders to plan and execute to a high level of customer service and cash flow performance. For the areas of responsibility, the regional planner leads the SIOP process, accelerated lead time recovery plans, long term capital capacity planning and the yearly SLOB inventory process. Works in conjunction with multiple plants and sourcing groups to implement inventory management strategies and track performance. Drives consistency and sharing of best practices related to supply planning and provides guidance to plant planners and buyers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supply chain point of contact for the commercial, product management and manufacturing partners
  • Responsible for facilitating the regional SIOP process, long term capacity planning, and communicating supply and demand plans to leadership at different levels in the organization including senior level management
  • Able to support quick turnaround capacity modeling scenarios (scenario planning) to capture opportunities
  • Drives plant teams for root cause, corrective and preventive actions for the service level metrics
  • Facilitates the security of supply plans as required by the business
  • Facilitates aRPM (accelerated recovery plan management) process for recovery of product lead times, interacting with commercial, product management, plant management and effective report outs to senior leadership
  • Able to anticipate potential supply gaps that may create a risk to meet customer demand in the long-term view
  • Matches supply and demand to ensure appropriate capacity levels at work centers
  • Evaluates and provides recommendations on Inventory prebuilds, stocking plans and special customer programs
  • Ensures effective communication with plant resources and global counterparts to realize global capacity and maximize in regions speed and flexibility
  • Engages with product line management teams to support business priorities, contributing to define the right supply chain strategy to meet objectives
  • Represent manufacturing in forecast consensus meeting to balance statistical forecast with commercial inputs, providing feedback to improve accuracy and best possible MPS/MRP plans to plant through SAP
  • Carries out effective implementation and maintenance of planning strategies to optimize inventory and service levels
  • Support the excess and obsolescent inventory management process in collaboration with product teams to meet yearly targets
  • Interacts with commercial groups and customers as needed to support supply chain end to end collaboration activities
  • Provides support to business-critical projects as allowed by planned workloads
Job Requirements
  • BA/BS degree
  • +5 years of supply chain related experience
  • Experienced as a master scheduler, production planner, demand planning positions is preferred
  • Fully bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Experience with SAP system is preferred
  • APICS preferred
  • Proven presentation and communication skills at different levels of the organization
  • Self-starter, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Advanced reporting skills is a plus
