Job summary

Johnson Controls in Mexico is seeking a Product Engineer to lead mechanical and electrical analysis, design, and development of components and systems for air- and water-cooled chillers. You will collaborate with production, lab, service, applications, and marketing teams globally.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering, 5+ years of product development experience, SAP experience, and the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, mechanical, or related field) required.
• Minimum 5 years of product development experience required.
• SAP operational knowledge required.
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven, team-oriented environment.
• Domestic and international travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and analyzes product design proposals and conceptualizes design ideas into the product.
• Prepares, checks, and coordinates release of documentation to support designs.
• Provides technical direction to application engineers, designers, factory operations, product marketing, and product technical service.
• Ensures accurate completion of projects.
• Selects suitable electrical and mechanical components for designs.
• Applies standard technical and mathematical principles to design work.
• Creates engineering drawings including electrical schematics and BOMs.
• Experience with mechanical systems and MRP software is a plus.
• Follows Code of Conduct and Ethics standards.
• Implements prevention risk tools such as DFMEA.
• Creates specifications and criteria for concepts, performance, and production.
• Designs and develops devices per program schedule phases.
• Maintains and releases engineering drawings and system designs.
• Provides manufacturing support ensuring conformance to customer requirements.
• Performs failure analysis and corrective actions when necessary.
