Aptiv PLC in Saltillo, Mexico is seeking a Product Engineer to advance mechanical design and analysis for automotive applications. You will identify suitable components, design thermal management, perform structural analyses, and ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency across projects.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, plus 2+ years in a similar position with automotive experience and strong CAD/FEA capability.

Formación

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Proficient English level.
• +2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience in the automotive industry.
• Ability to interpret drawings.
• Knowledge of molding and stamping processes.
• 3D design expertise.
• Familiarity with core engineering tools.

Responsabilidades

• Identify and select appropriate mechanical components for hardware and product engineering projects.
• Design and optimize thermal management systems to ensure proper heat dissipation and thermal performance of mechanical components.
• Perform structural analysis to evaluate strength, durability, and integrity of mechanical structures and components.
• Use FEA tools to assess structural performance.
• Utilize CAD software to create detailed mechanical designs and engineering drawings.
• Apply manufacturing knowledge to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
• Conduct FMEA to identify potential failure modes of mechanical systems and components.
• Define GD&T requirements to ensure proper fit, form, and function of components.
• Drive innovations and continuous improvement in mechanical design processes and product performance.
• Apply knowledge of mechanical engineering processes to execute projects effectively.
• Follow MCAD engineering processes and workflows to develop and validate designs.
• Design and simulate plastic components using BOD and DDS tools.
• Design mechanical enclosures and housings to ensure EMI/EMC considerations.
• Specify optical components/interfaces for integration into systems.
