Flex is seeking a Product Engineer for Guadalajara, reporting to the Sr Mechanical Design Engineer. You will manage technical information from customers for NPI or design changes to ensure manufacturability and performance.

You will coordinate with design, manufacturing, and supply chain to maintain design integrity, evaluate changes, and train teams on the product. The role supports SpinCo initiatives focusing on digital infrastructure and AI data centers.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Experience in NPIs and mass production environments.
• Knowledge of metalworking processes and drawings interpretation.

Responsabilidades

• Handle product transfer and new product set up.
• Support production by assessing engineering issues on the production line.
• Suggest process improvements to obtain better quality and yield.
• Solve product-related problems and perform failure evaluations.
• Interact with customers and departments on product issues.
• Review engineering changes and manage PCN/MCO processes.
• Perform DFM/DOE evaluations to define root causes.
• Provide product training to manufacturing/process engineers.

Job Summary: Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we’re calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission‑critical applications.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Product Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus. Reporting to the Sr Mechanical Design Engineer, Product Engineer role involves Responsible for receiving, evaluating, cleaning, and customizing all technical information / documentation from the customer related to their product, derived from a New Product Introduction (NPI) or a design change to establish all necessary processes to manufacture it by maintaining its design and performance integrity.

Responsibilities

• Handle product transfer and new product set up.
• Support production by assessing product engineering issues of diverse scope that arise on production line.
• Suggest improvements to process to obtain improved quality and production yield.
• Solve product related problems and perform failure evaluation related to product issues.
• Interact with customer and various departments on product related issues
• Work with design team to resolve design related issues.
• Suggest modification to work instructions, material, or product changes to ensure excellent quality of products.
• Customer´s Bill of Material (BOM) evaluation and structure definition for production
• Functional Product Documentation review
• Safety Requirements and regulations compliance identification
• Engineering Drawings Interpretation of parts and assemblies.
• Request customer for drawing corrections, additions, clarification, measurements methods
• Manage Engineering Changes Implementation
• Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM), tolerance evaluation, Design of Experiment (DOE), form-fit-function to define failure root/cause evaluation and reporting to customer
• Provide support to supply chain to integrate parts derived from the vertical integration or localization effort
• Provide product training to the manufacturing/process engineers for better understanding of the product.
• Request, handle and administrate golden samples, engineering samples of final product and/or piece parts
• Establish, operate, and maintain a standard method for technical information interchange with the customer to control and preserve information of NPI transferred projects
• Inspection of customer product parts and assemblies through model files using Computer-aided Design (CAD) system
• Evaluate and identify course of action of Product Change Notification (PCN) and Manufacturing Change Order (MCO)
• Ability to take additional responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer depending on the size and complexity of the customer product.

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial Engineer, Mechatronics Engineer, Electromechanics Engineering or related.
• Advance experience in the position Intermediate- Advance English.
• Experience in metalworking would be a plus.
• Experience in NPI and mass production environments.
• Knowledge of metalworking processes (painting, bending, punching, insertion).
• Availability to work shifts 2 and 3.
• BOOM´s.
• Flowcharts.
• Customer communication.
• ECOS control.
• Intermediate English.
• Interpretation of 2D drawings.
• 3D software would be a plus.
• Interpretation of blueprints.
• Material flow on the production floor.
• Experience with ERP and Agile systems.
• Work order systems.
• Material traceability systems on the production floor.
• PCBA Experience MS Office.
• Project Timeline.
