In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

The Product Engineer I, requires a well-developed and demonstrated qualification in mechanical design engineering. This position will also provide engineering support related to cost reduction analysis, customer returns, material substitutions, engineering changes, and deviations.
  • Cost reduction: provide engineering support for the improvement or modification of existing designs with a focus on cost reduction and value-added contributions, as well as meeting financial targets, engineering schedules, and deliverables.
  • Product extensions: design and develop modifications and enhancements to existing products within established guidelines. Perform detailed analyses for stress and flow prediction using finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and other engineering analysis tools as required.
  • Engineering change notices: work with cross-functional groups to implement designs seamlessly into overall operations. Thorough implementation is critical and requires careful planning when updating the bill of materials, drawings, marketing communications, engineering/manufacturing procedures, inventory transition, third-party approvals, etc.
  • Engineer-to-order: application engineering support, order entry, and global operations for inquiries related to product performance, tolerances, materials of construction, etc.
  • Product approvals: create new product approvals and maintain existing ones, e.g., UL, PED, ATEX, CRN, etc. Apply applicable codes by global area, develop technical files, submit calculations, and risk/hazard analyses as needed to meet the requirements of multiple third-party approval agencies.


For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Advanced English
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Mechanics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • High mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiar with PED 2014/68 EU, EN334, EN14382
  • Focus on safety in the workplace and laboratory environments.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD.


Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • 2 years of experience in product engineering or similar.
  • Working knowledge of finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, computer-aided design, 3D printing, and/or Minitab preferred.
