Job summary

Katalyst CRO in Mexico is seeking a Product Development Engineer with strong mechanical/product design and HVAC expertise to support new product development, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will design, validate, and document HVAC products, collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams, and lead design reviews and ECO/ECN processes to deliver robust, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 26+ years of experience in mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
• Intermediate AutoCAD 2D proficiency.
• CAD software proficiency, Autodesk Inventor preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.
• English B1+ or higher.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate HVAC products per customer requirements and specs.
• Create and maintain drawings, specifications, BOMs, CAD models, and test reports.
• Participate in DFMEA, DVP&R, and design reviews for robustness.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Production teams for feasibility.
• Implement technical improvements and cost-reduction initiatives (Value Engineering/VAVE).
• Provide technical support during pilot production, start-up, and post-release phases.
• Manage ECOs/ECNs for assigned products.

We are looking for a Product Development Engineer with experience in mechanical/product design, HVAC systems, and manufacturing processes to support new product development, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate new HVAC products in line with customer requirements, technical standards, and performance specifications.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings, specification sheets, BOMs, CAD models, and test reports.
• Participate in DFMEA, DVP&R, and design reviews to ensure product robustness.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Production teams to ensure design feasibility.
• Implement technical improvements to existing products through redesign and cost-reduction initiatives, including Value Engineering/VAVE.
• Provide technical support during pilot production, production start-up, and post-release phases.
• Manage engineering changes, including ECOs/ECNs, for assigned products.

• English proficiency at B1 level or higher (CEFR).
• Strong analytical, communication, planning, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to learn independently, take initiative, and work proactively.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with HVAC systems and Air Handling Units (AHU).
• Sheet-metal design experience.
• New Product Introduction (NPI) experience, preferably 13 years.
• Macro programming and automation using VBA, Python, C#, or CAD APIs.
• Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, and VAVE activities.
