Vertiv is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Monterrey, Mexico to contribute to new product development. You will work in a cross-functional environment with electrical controls, thermal and other development groups to solve complex problems for high-density and liquid cooling data center applications.

Responsibilities include creating/modifying mechanical parts and drawings in Creo/Solid Edge, maintaining BOMs, and collaborating with Manufacturing, Service and Quality.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or product development with extensive experience.
• 5+ years of mechanical design & analysis experience in a similar role.
• Fluency in English required (read, write, and speak).
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts, products, and safety.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software, CREO 10.0 preferred.
• Experience with Sheetmetal, piping and assemblies is a plus.
• Create and revise drawings and bills of materials.
• Change order management and data-entry systems familiarity - Oracle, Agile, etc.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve and prevent a wide range of problems.
• Detail oriented.
• Excellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to operate in cross functional global development teams.

• Create and maintain BOMs and unit configurator logic for customer options.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Service and Quality to meet needs.
• Assist with prototype builds providing technical support.
• Gather feedback from prototype builds and field trials for improvements.
• Understand products and suggest ideas and improvements.
• Assist with troubleshooting escalated field issues.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Mechanical Design Engineer will contribute to the development of new products; work in a cross-functional environment with electrical controls, thermal & other development groups; manage a variety of tasks and activities in this dynamic environment; and solve complex problems related to High density and Liquid cooling applications for data centers.

Responsibilities

• Creates/modifies mechanical Parts/Assemblies/drawings in CAD systems, such as Creo and/or Solid Edge.
• Create and maintain Bill of Materials and unit configurator logic to select the correct BOM’s based on options selected by the customer.
• Works with Manufacturing, Service and Quality to understand their requirements to design a product that best meets all their needs.
• Assist with prototype builds by providing technical support and providing guidance when issues arise.
• Gather feedback from prototype builds and field trials and implement appropriate improvements to the product.
• Understanding the products, suggest ideas and improvements.
• Assists with troubleshooting of escalated or re-occurring field issues.
