Job Description Summary
Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems using CAD software for items manufactured using composites materials. Interpretation and development of Product Definition Data Sets using Aerospace processes, standards and specifications. Includes activities linked to improvement of existing products and components. Accountable for the quality of own work. Collaborate with Cross functional teams to define and implement design, manufacturing, materials, inspection, assembly, maintainability, program CTQs.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Create definitions of parts and assemblies in the form of 2D and 3D.
- Interpret Engineering Drawings,read and analyze technical drawings for composite components, ensuring compliance with design intent.
- Understand and apply engineering fundamentals in the design of components, use design tools like tolerance stack-ups, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and electronic data to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling and inspection.
- Support the development of conceptual solutions in collaboration with other engineering disciplines.
- Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards, Design Customer Operating Procedures, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special security and safety requirements.
- Concurrently work on multiple projects, monitoring progress and quality, and ensuring schedule requirements are met.
- Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- Collaborates actively with other roles to identify and solve issues.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related field.
- Contribution in a similar role or previous position.
- Capable to maintain a technical oriented fluid conversation in English with few mistakes (mistakes that do not affect understanding of technical decisions and requirements).
- Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, NX).
- Basic interpretation of GD&T principles.
- Understanding of composites manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.
- Understanding in the use of design tools relevant to function (GD&T, CAD, Stack ups).
- Focus on quality and delivery supported by experienced engineers.
Desired Characteristics
- Exposure to PLM software (e.g., Teamcenter, NX).
- Strong oral and written communication skills that support handling meetings and conversations across functions.
- Ability to document, plan and execute based on programs milestones.
- Understanding of aircraft engine components and systems.
