Flex is seeking a Process Engineer (Metal Fabrication & Welding) for its Guadalajara, North Campus. You will lead continuous improvement in welding processes, supplier development, and new product transfers, ensuring quality and production objectives are met.

The role covers NPI and mass production, ECO implementation, process control, and cost reduction initiatives, with hands‑on training for production staff and direct customer contact.

Formación

• Engineering degree or bachelor's degree completed.
• Experience in metal‑mechanical industry.
• Knowledge of MIG, TIG, SPOT welding and metal polishing.
• Programming of YASKAWA welding robots.
• Knowledge of AWS and ISO standards.
• Interpretation of welding symbols.
• Knowledge of metrology.
• Experience in supplier development.
• Conversational and technical English.
• Experience in NPI and Mass Production.
• Six Sigma belt (Green/Yellow) is a plus.
• Knowledge of Minitab is a plus.
• PPAP knowledge is a plus.
• SolidWorks proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Improve cycle time and process efficiency.
• Apply statistical process analysis to new and existing products.

• Continuously develop manufacturing techniques for capability.
• Develop and maintain process documentation.
• Interface with production during implementation and transfer of new processes.
• Assist in the development of training for production during product transfers.
• Drive cost reduction and improvement programs.
• Direct customer contact.
• Fixture and poka‑yoke design.

Process Engineer (Metal Fabrication & Welding) – Guadalajara, North Campus

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role leads continuous improvement initiatives in welding processes, supplier development, and new product transfers, ensuring compliance with quality and production objectives.

Typical Day

• Participate in daily NPI and Mass Production activities.
• Support the implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
• Develop, apply, and own process control methodologies.
• Troubleshoot process‑related issues.
• Participate in activities related to cycle time and process improvements.
• Apply statistical process analysis to new and existing products.
• Apply safety, productivity, and yield improvements.
• Continuously develop manufacturing techniques that improve internal capabilities and performance.
• Develop and maintain process documentation.
• Interface with production on all activities associated with the implementation and transfer of new processes.
• Assist in the development of training and provide training to production personnel during the transfer of new products and sustaining products.
• Drive cost reduction and improvement programs.
• Direct customer contact.
• Fixture and poka‑yoke design.

Experience and Qualifications

• Engineering degree or bachelor's degree completed.
• Previous experience in similar positions within the metal‑mechanical industry.
• Knowledge of MIG, TIG, SPOT welding and metal polishing.
• Programming of YASKAWA welding robots.
• Knowledge of AWS and ISO standards.
• Interpretation of welding symbols.
• Knowledge of metrology.
• Experience in supplier development.
• Conversational and technical English.
• Experience in NPI and Mass Production.
• Green Belt or Yellow Belt certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of Minitab is a plus.
• PPAP process knowledge is a plus.
• SolidWorks proficiency.
