IMI plc in Querétaro, Mexico, seeks a seasoned Process Engineer to develop and maintain manufacturing processes for high-quality, low-cost products under IMI PE QRO quality system and the lean manufacturing philosophy.

You will lead improvement projects, apply statistical methods and digital tools, optimize standard work, evaluate bottlenecks, and drive automation while ensuring APQP/PPAP deliverables and strict safety and environmental compliance.

Formación

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, or similar.
• At least 8 years of experience in Process Engineering or similar.
• Advanced English required.
• Troubleshooting tools (8D, 5 Whys, or similar).

Responsabilidades

• Lead continuous improvement projects focused on scrap, FPY, and productivity.
• Develop engineering solutions using statistics, simulations or digital tools (DOE, SPC, regression).
• Develop, optimize, and maintain standard work aligned with cycle times and lean practices.
• Calculate installed and available capacity and workload per process using data and time studies.
• Evaluate machinery to identify bottlenecks and support planning/investment decisions.
• Design, evaluate and implement automation and control technologies to improve efficiency and safety.
• Lead manufacturing activities in project launches with APQP/PPAP deliverables.
• Participate in risk analysis and establish preventive actions for ergonomics, safety, and environment.
• Contribute to security audits of new processes or changes.

Summary/Objective Of The Position

Develop and maintain, under the procedures established in the IMI PE QRO quality system and the lean manufacturing philosophy, the manufacturing processes for the production of quality and low cost products.

Essential Job Roles And Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement projects focused on improving key business indicators (Scrap, FPY, Productivity)
• Develop advanced engineering solutions for problem solving using statistical analysis, simulations or digital tools (DOE, SPC, regression analysis).
• Develop, optimize, and maintain standard work ensuring alignment with actual cycle times, operational requirements, and lean manufacturing best practices
• Perform calculations of installed capacity, available capacity, and workload per machine or process, using data analysis tools and time studies
• Evaluate the use of machinery to identify bottlenecks, propose redistribution of resources, and support planning, expansion, or equipment investment decisions.
• Design, evaluate and implement automation and control technologies (smart sensors, PLCs, machine vision, traceability systems or industrial IoT) to improve efficiency, repeatability, operational safety and process stability.
• Lead manufacturing activities in project launches ensuring compliance with APQP/PPAP deliverable phases.
• Participate in the risk analysis in the operations under their responsibility and establish preventive actions when considered necessary in ergonomics, safety and environmental issues.
• Participate in security audits of new processes or changes to them.
• Implement lean manufacturing systems in a structured manner: SMED, standard work, complex Poka Yoke

11. Update process paths, cycle times and set-up time in the system.

• Develop strategic plans to achieve annual objectives in their area of charge
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements
• Effective use of data: analytics, metrics, dashboards
• Contribute to the achievement of the organization's environmental objectives through proper compliance with internal environmental procedures and policy, as well as the legal and governmental requirements that apply in environmental matters.

Job Requirements

Level of Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree / Finished Engineering (Specialty: Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, or similar)
• At least 8 years of experience in Process Engineering or similar positions.

• Troubleshooting Tools (8D's, 5 Whys? or similar)
• Experience in implementation in trial and error systems (Poka Yoke).
• Advanced English
