IMI plc is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to develop and maintain manufacturing processes for high-quality, low-cost products at our Querétaro site. You will lead continuous improvement projects, design advanced solutions using DOE/SPC, and ensure lean manufacturing standards are followed in line with APQP/PPAP deliverables.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, 8+ years' experience, and strong English skills.

Formación

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial/Mechatronics).
• 8+ years in Process Engineering or similar roles.
• Experience with 8D/5 Whys problem solving.
• Experience with Poka Yoke implementations.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce scrap and boost productivity.
• Develop engineering solutions using DOE, SPC, simulations.
• Maintain standard work aligned with cycle times and lean practices.
• Calculate capacity and workload per machine using data analysis.
• Evaluate machinery and plan resource redistribution.
• Design and implement automation to improve efficiency and safety.
• Guide manufacturing activities in APQP/PPAP phases.
• Participate in risk analysis and implement preventive actions.
• Contribute to security audits of processes.
• Apply lean systems: SMED, standard work, poka-yoke.
• Update process paths, cycle times, and setups in systems.
• Develop strategic plans to achieve annual objectives.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 requirements.
• Utilize data analytics, metrics, and dashboards.
• Align with environmental policies and regulatory requirements.

Summary/Objective of the Position

Develop and maintain, under the procedures established in the IMI PE QRO quality system and the lean manufacturing philosophy, the manufacturing processes for the production of quality and low cost products.

Essential Job Roles and Responsibilities

• 1. Lead continuous improvement projects focused on improving key business indicators (Scrap, FPY, Productivity)
• 2. Develop advanced engineering solutions for problem solving using statistical analysis, simulations or digital tools (DOE, SPC, regression analysis).
• 3. Develop, optimize, and maintain standard work ensuring alignment with actual cycle times, operational requirements, and lean manufacturing best practices
• 4. Perform calculations of installed capacity, available capacity, and workload per machine or process, using data analysis tools and time studies
• 5. Evaluate the use of machinery to identify bottlenecks, propose redistribution of resources, and support planning, expansion, or equipment investment decisions.
• 6. Design, evaluate and implement automation and control technologies (smart sensors, PLCs, machine vision, traceability systems or industrial IoT) to improve efficiency, repeatability, operational safety and process stability.
• 7. Lead manufacturing activities in project launches ensuring compliance with APQP/PPAP deliverable phases.
• 8. Participate in the risk analysis in the operations under their responsibility and establish preventive actions when considered necessary in ergonomics, safety and environmental issues.
• 9. Participate in security audits of new processes or changes to them.
• 10. Implement lean manufacturing systems in a structured manner: SMED, standard work, complex Poka Yoke
• 11. Update process paths, cycle times and set-up time in the system.
• 12. Develop strategic plans to achieve annual objectives in their area of charge
• 13. Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements
• 14. Effective use of data: analytics, metrics, dashboards
• 15. Contribute to the achievement of the organization's environmental objectives through proper compliance with internal environmental procedures and policy, as well as the legal and governmental requirements that apply in environmental matters.

Job Requirements

Level of Education and Experience

• 1. Bachelor's Degree / Finished Engineering (Specialty: Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, or similar)
• 2. At least 8 years of experience in Process Engineering or similar positions.
• 3. Troubleshooting Tools (8D's, 5 Whys? or similar)
• 4. Experience in implementation in trial and error systems (Poka Yoke).
• 5. Advanced English
