Your role at Baxter

As a Principal Specialist - ECM, you will support the team responsible for External Contract Manufacturing (ECM) in driving activities that enhance business continuity, growth, and financial efficiencies. You will be ensuring that the organization remains competitive and adaptable to market demands while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

What you'll be doing
  • Assisting the External Contract Manufacturing (ECM) organization in achieving long-term business viability, expansion, and cost efficiencies
  • Partnering with contract manufacturers to ensure quality, delivery and cost meet or exceed Baxter’s expectations
  • Serving as a liaison between Company and External Contract Manufacturer network
  • Providing oversight to the manufacturing, quality and development of products performed at ECM
  • Handling contracts to ensure delivery of company expectations, and meeting budget targets cost savings and capacity management
  • Partnering with Procurement and Supply Chain functions to ensure continuity of product supply and with Quality Assurance to support/perform supplier audits, quality investigations, and non-conformance analysis by providing appropriate product/process expertise
  • Supervising key ECM operating mechanisms and being responsible for ECM metrics for scorecard/dashboard
  • Coordinating communication between all applicable internal and external functions/organizations regarding ECM operations
  • Analyzing actual budget cost variances, identifying the root cause, and driving cost improvement
  • Managing issues to ensure efficient and effective resolution
  • Leading performance business reviews with suppliers/contracting organizations
  • Supporting Due Diligence evaluations of potential Business Development Target organizations
What you'll bring
  • An expert with 5+ years of Medical Device / Pharmaceutical / Biologics proven experience working with Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Quality holding a bachelor's degree
  • Professional skills with technical skills appropriate to the assigned ECM Category, including cGMP-Regulations and Regulatory Affairs, Quality Control and Assurance, and Operations
  • Cross-functional team leaders who can work and influence across business units and functions, multi-site, and multi-cultural with proven track record to hold others accountable
  • An individual who can develop and manage partnerships and drive and sustain transformational changes with management-level presentation skills
  • Person who demonstrates the ability to complete sophisticated plans on time and on budget, able to think strategically and provide clear direction to others having outstanding analytical, organization, and project management skills
  • Proficient English speaker
  • Strong financial and production competence preferred
