About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Geologist to join the Trion organization. The role involves working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams to conduct technical evaluations supporting development planning, execution, and production. The primary focus will be on well contingency planning, well execution support, and post-well activity coordination. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in subsurface well planning, well execution support, and production geology.

This role reports to the Trion subsurface manager. It is a full-time position based in Mexico City, Mexico, with team members located mainly there and in Houston, Texas, USA.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Support well contingency planning for development wells in collaboration with the subsurface team.
  • Refine development well plans based on reprocessed seismic data.
  • Assist the operations geologist during drilling campaigns.
  • Develop and maintain integrated geology work plans aligned with business priorities.
  • Prepare materials and participate in joint venture technical engagements with PEMEX.
  • Collaborate with Houston-based geoscience staff on static model updates based on well results.
  • Support the building of processes and systems for efficient delivery of regulatory requirements and communication during drilling campaigns.
  • Coordinate subsurface QA/QC of well data in compliance with regulations and reporting requirements.
Skills & Experience:
  • Degree in Geoscience (Geology or Geophysics).
  • 15+ years of experience in geology within the upstream oil and gas industry, working in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to integrate information across disciplines.
  • Proven track record in well planning and execution during drilling and completion operations.
  • Experience with projects from development to late production is preferred.
  • Experience building and updating static models for greenfield and brownfield developments.
  • Understanding of static to dynamic model integration.
  • Ability to provide insights into well performance and surveillance results.
  • High attention to detail and capability to manage large datasets.
  • Ability to present clear technical summaries to stakeholders.
  • Experience in offshore and deepwater operations is preferred.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
