Descripción del empleo

The Pressure Sensor Engineer - Mechanical Engineer will be engaged in two phases of custom pressure sensor design: one, to develop conceptual designs to agreed to specifications, develop cost models and

investment needs, and supporting collaboration with the customer’s engineering team to win new business, developing conceptual samples; two, design execution from project kickoff to start of production, including designing, testing, writing test plans, executing test plans, writing test reports,

More specifically, the pressure sensor engineer will focus on pressure sensors for automotive and HVOR applications. The engineer will develop sensor specific enclosures for numerous pressure applications. The mechanical engineer will be responsible for all mechanical aspects of a new pressure sensor, design, cost, reliability, sealing, design for manufacturability, meeting timelines, and meeting agreed to specifications.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Design execution from project kickoff to start of production
  2. Engineering design that includes developing product requirements, creating prototype samples, mitigating risks, testing, developing new product cost estimates
  3. Project management of simultaneous projects
  4. Collaboration with suppliers to support project deliverables and timing.
  5. Develop robust engineering solutions, which solve customer problems, by collaborating with engineering peers, testing prototypes, and mitigating risks through design reviews and FMEAs
  6. Develop engineer-to-engineer relationships with customers to drive deeper discussions on given projects and opportunities
  7. Work with manufacturing to successfully launch new products, to drive cost out projects and collaborate on process equipment/tooling requirements
  8. Understand Gantt charts, commitments, and timeliness.Mitigate risks as they are identified
  9. As required, engage in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action
  1. Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (minimum), a plus to have 7 years’ experience in the automotive/HVOR pressure sensor product environment
  2. Ability to fluently speak and write in the English language.
  3. Skilled at writing reports
  4. Skilled at public speaking in front of customers and other employees
  5. Skilled with laboratory equipment/tools to support engineering development, testing, and validation (CAD tools, Mold flow analysis, chemical compatibility analysis, worst case tolerance stack-up, environmental chambers, HALT testing)
  6. Working knowledge of MEMS-based pressure sensors
  7. Manufacturing knowledge of MEMS-based pressure sensors (die attach, wire bonding, calibration, plasma cleaning, etc.)
  8. Skilled with molded plastic component design, mold flow analysis, and working with mold suppliers.
  9. Skilled with the design and execution of design-of-experiments
  10. Skilled with the execution of product validation testing
  11. Ability to travel domestically and internationally when required
  12. Working knowledge of APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA
