Job summary

Valeo, a global automotive supplier, is seeking a Production System Intern to join our team and contribute to optimizing production processes within a leading manufacturing environment. This trainee role offers hands-on experience in applying VPS principles, Kaizen, and 5S to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

You will analyze production data, support SOP development, and collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams while developing practical problem-solving and communication skills

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing and optimizing production line processes for efficiency improvements and waste reduction.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of VPS principles and tools.
• Collect and analyze data related to production performance, quality, and costs.
• Help prepare and maintain SOPs and work instructions.
• Collaborate with production teams, engineers, and other departments to resolve issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects (Kaizen, 5S, SMED).
• Assist in development and deployment of new production methods and equipment.
• Learn and apply problem-solving methodologies to address challenges.

• Participate in data collection and analysis related to production performance, quality, and costs.
• Help prepare and maintain documentation for standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Collaborate with production teams, engineers, and other departments to identify and resolve production issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, SMED).
• Provide support for the development and deployment of new production methods and equipment.
• Learn and apply problem-solving methodologies to address production challenges.
• Assist in training and communication efforts related to production system changes.

Job Qualifications:**

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive attitude and a strong desire to learn and contribute.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Spanish or French is a plus.
