Job summary

Valeo is seeking an Industrial Engineering Trainee to gain hands-on experience optimizing processes, improving efficiency, and driving operational excellence in manufacturing and logistics environments.

You will learn and apply industrial engineering tools, participate in time and motion studies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve set goals. This internship offers mentorship and practical project experience within a global automotive supplier.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
• Prior internship or project experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing current production processes, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing solutions for improvement.
• Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies (e.g., 5S, Kaizen events).
• Collect and analyze data related to production cycles, resource utilization, and waste reduction.
• Participate in time and motion studies to optimize work methods and standardize procedures.
• Contribute to the design and layout of workstations and production lines to enhance ergonomics and flow.
• Assist in developing and maintaining process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain, to achieve operational goals.
• Learn and apply various industrial engineering tools and software for simulation, scheduling, and analysis.
• Prepare reports and presentations on project progress and findings.
