Ford in Mexico seeks a Fasteners/Bolted Joint Engineer to lead the design, validation, and optimization of threaded assemblies for safety-critical components. You will manage advanced tightening strategies, analyze torque curves, and drive supplier sign-offs to ensure robust joint performance across powertrain modules.

Role requires 3–5+ years in automotive fasteners, a mechanical/ manufacturing background, and fluent English for cross‑border collaboration with Dearborn teams and global tool

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Metallurgical/Materials/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 3–5+ years of proven Fastener/Bolted Joint/Assembly Process Engineer experience in automotive industry.
• Advanced English (B2+ to C1); able to lead technical discussions with global teams.

Responsabilidades

• Design, program and optimize tightening strategies (torque, torque-angle, torque-turn, yield control) to ensure clamp load on major engine components.
• Program and maintain DC tightening systems (Atlas Copco Power Focus, Bosch Rexroth, Desoutter).
• Monitor torque vs angle curves on ToolsNet/QST to detect friction issues and prevent defects.
• Audit tightening system capability (Cm/Cmk ≥ 1.67) and study correlations between inline dynamic torque and residual torque.
• Lead 8D/5 Whys/fractography analyses for fastener failures in assembly or test cells.
• Validate engineering changes (WERS/PTR) and approve PPAP submissions and surface coatings.
