Job summary

Capgemini Engineering is seeking an experienced Fastener Application Engineer to provide onsite technical support for fastener joint design, validation, testing, and problem resolution at our Santa Fé, CDMX offices. You will lead joint reviews, define torque specifications, and coordinate lab testing with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and 3+ years in fastener related work, including materials, coatings, and assembly processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in fastener engineering, joint design, or related technical role.
• Strong knowledge of fastener materials, coatings, joint design principles, torque development, testing methods, and installation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for fastener applications through design, validation, and issue resolution.
• Conduct joint reviews and recommend fasteners, torque specs, testing requirements, and design improvements.
• Determine validation methods (torque-to-failure, torque-to-yield, torque-tension, clamp-load, ultrasonic tests).
• Develop tightening strategies (dynamic torque, residual torque, torque-angle, angle-controlled).
• Review work orders, coordinate laboratory testing, analyze results, and provide technical recommendations.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
• Support vehicle development, launch activities, and investigations of fastener related plant issues.
