A leading manufacturing firm in Mexicali is seeking a Production Planner to oversee the planning and purchasing of raw materials. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, at least 3 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in English. Responsibilities include developing production plans, coordinating with various departments, and monitoring inventory levels. This role requires strong decision-making skills and a team-oriented mindset.

Formación

Responsabilidades
  • Responsible for planning and purchasing raw materials with suppliers to meet the production plan required to satisfy customer demand. Also responsible for creating and monitoring production plans that align with customer needs. Coordinate with various departments within the company to ensure that sales objectives are met.
  • Develop production plans with a four-week visibility, ensuring alignment with customer demand.
  • Plan and purchase raw materials with suppliers to cover the production plan.
  • Monitor sales order shipments to prevent late deliveries to customers.
  • Track the progress of production plans.
  • Prepare and present reports on on-time deliveries.
  • Generate reports on Capacity vs. Demand and Waterfall analysis.
  • Negotiate “pull-ins” and “push-outs” of sales orders with Customer Service Representatives (CSRs).
  • Provide delivery commitments for late orders.
  • Monitor and analyze demand trends and notify of unauthorized changes within lead time using Capacity vs. Demand Report and Waterfall tools.
  • Prepare reports on material shortages and identify impacts on sales, production plans, and customer shipments.
  • Create projections for overdue orders with a four-week visibility.
  • Request and monitor special crossings of urgent orders.
  • Meet with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams to discuss production plan progress, analyze potential quality issues, raw materials, or processes, and propose solutions.
  • Notify CSRs, area managers, and planning managers about projected orders to be sent after the committed date.
  • Coordinate with the Purchasing department to ensure adequate inventory levels.
  • Work with Receiving and Shipping departments to ensure their activities support production plans and customer requirements.
  • Interact with Customer Service areas to ensure that sales orders are correctly created in the system and that there are no issues for timely shipments.
Requisitos
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in English
  • Experience in inventory management and material planning.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Oracle.
