A leading company in the tire manufacturing industry is seeking a Supply Chain Manager at their San Luis Potosí plant. The successful candidate will oversee master planning, production scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role demands a qualified individual with a strong background in supply chain management within manufacturing environments, excellent communication and analytical skills, and a commitment to operational efficiency.
Primary Purpose of the Position:
• Oversee and control the Master Planning of the plant (Ticket Planning) per Akron's requirements, with a direct link to Consumer BC and Component Prep BC, scheduling and aligning as needed.
• Lead the planning process applying flow principles to align plant operations closely with customer demand, creating a functional plan for plant execution that meets production planning requirements.
• Coordinate Process Flows Specialists responsible for WIP buffer management to support flow, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support and ensure consistency of standard work for flow and scheduling processes, including planning inter-plant sourcing and coordinating schedules with external providers/3PLs.
• Responsible for mold planning aligned with the internal supply chain.
• Act as a link between the regional supply chain team and the SLP plant for OE and replacement demand management.
• Monitor and create actions to ensure KPI adherence levels.
• Drive balance of OFF/ON schedules per ticket requirements and manage daily master planning across the plant, monitoring GT inventory levels to optimize schedules.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop the ticket and an execution plan for the shop floor based on regional demand requirements; support internal/external areas, establish daily production schedules for building machines, and monitor accordingly, including mold planning.
• Regularly review and determine Min-Max levels on PSMS system, ensuring proper levels accounting for DOR and physical infrastructure.
• Manage and plan supply changes for new product development and industrialization daily.
• Support monthly and year-end physical inventories and analyze results.
• Conduct high-quality analysis of plant operations to identify improvement initiatives.
• Maintain comprehensive process knowledge, machinery, and constraints across the plant to serve as a production control expert and provide accurate availability information.
• Manage weekly cavity schedules, daily schedules, and ticket changes.
• Collaborate closely with the item Level Planner to schedule production and align weekly tickets.
• Manage demand for OE, achieving stipulated DOH and customer satisfaction.
• Generate master production schedule scenarios to ensure inventory availability and promote continuous flow.
• Manage engineering changes within the planning process, overseeing the internal supply chain.
• Maintain accuracy of the Cavity Schedule database.
• Coordinate with Akron's office to request OE and replacement codes needed to prevent raw material expiration.
Education:
• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
Experience:
• Previous experience in Supply Chain Management, Production Scheduling and Control, Operations Management, Inventory Management, or related fields; plant/manufacturing experience preferred.
• 3+ years in supply chain management/demand planning.
• Preferred experience within automotive manufacturing.
• MPS & detailed planning experience.
• Familiarity with Production Scheduling and Monitoring System (PSMS) or similar systems.
• Knowledge of plant material flow elements.
• Tire technology knowledge is a plus.
• Commitment to continual learning through additional education, experiences, and training.
• Experience in cross-functional projects or assignments.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Understanding of product delivery systems, including Scheduling, Kanban, Sequencing Heijunka, Bus Route, and Supermarket systems.
• Strong computer skills for plant scheduling management.
• Excellent communication, business, technical, analytical, and planning skills.
• Ability to guide, mentor, and train others.
• Ability to influence internal work groups to achieve goals.
• Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
• Intermediate English skills.
