The Role

The MaryRuth’s People Experience Manager is dedicated to cultivating a positive, inclusive, and engaging workplace. The PX Manager serves as a trusted advisor for employee relations and performance management initiatives, ensuring our team’s experience reflects the MaryRuth’s core values and commitment to employee well-being. This position will also be pivotal in maintaining compliance with local employment laws and optimizing our engagement strategies across diverse regions. This role will report to the People Experience Director and is a full-time (40 hr/wk), salaried, remote position. The compensation range for this role is MXN 480,000 to 600,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic People Experience Leadership
    • Serve as the primary People Experience representative for the Mexico region, aligning strategies with local employment laws and best practices.
    • Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations, balancing leadership perspectives with employee advocacy to promote fairness and engagement.
    • Provide guidance and structure for regional employees’ performance management, delivering constructive feedback to stakeholders and ensuring equitable evaluations.
  • Culture & Employee Engagement
    • Drive strategic planning and execution of employee experience initiatives, rotating activities across the People Experience leadership team to foster a culture of belonging.
    • Organize community outreach events (both virtual and in-person) that reinforce MaryRuth’s ESG goals and commitment to local community support.
    • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition on candidate sourcing and selection to ensure a strong company culture alignment.
    • Manage projects aimed at improving the employee experience, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and employee needs.
  • Operational Alignment
    • Lead interactions with local Employer of Record (EoR) or Professional Employer Organization (PEO) partners, ensuring consistent representation of MaryRuth’s culture and practices.
    • Collaborate on the implementation of HRIS and digital tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs) for employee satisfaction and engagement.
    • Champion cross-functional collaboration with teams such as Finance, IT, and Talent Acquisition to integrate people strategies with broader business objectives.
    • Develop strategies to leverage both agentic and generative AI tools to enhance HR processes, while addressing potential challenges such as bias, data privacy, and employee trust.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Some travel (<5%) may be required, with advance notice provided to the employee.

Qualifications

  • HR Certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR) is desirable.
  • 5+ years of proven expertise in People Experience or HR roles, with a focus on employee relations and engagement, is required.
  • Familiarity with EoR/PEO collaboration and HR analytics highly preferable.
  • Experience in implementing and managing AI-driven HR tools with a strong understanding of their benefits and limitations; excellent analytical skills to effectively evaluate the impact of technology on the employee experience.
  • Exceptional knowledge of local employment laws, workplace customs, and employee relations best practices specific to Mexico.
  • Strong project management skills with adaptability and flexibility in operating.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for DEI and employee/community engagement.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English required.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • This role involves sitting most of the time, but may also involve moving for brief periods of time.
