The People & Culture (P&C) Partner, Mexico serves as the primary People & Culture resource for ShijiMex, responsible for leading and executing the full employee lifecycle while serving as a trusted advisor to employees, managers, and business leaders. This role provides both strategic and operational HR partnership across employee relations, performance management, investigations, talent acquisition, compensation, payroll, policy administration, compliance, and organizational initiatives. The P&C Partner fosters a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace by providing practical, business-focused HR guidance, ensuring compliance with Mexican labor laws and Company policies, and partnering closely with the Director of People & Culture, Americas to support business objectives and drive operational excellence.

What You Will Do
  • Serve as the primary People & Culture partner for Shiji Mexico, providing strategic and operational support across the full employee lifecycle while partnering with employees, managers, and business leaders across Mexico and the United States to align People & Culture initiatives with business objectives and ensuring compliance with Mexican labor laws and Company policies.
  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with employees, managers, and business leaders by serving as a proactive, approachable, and consultative partner, providing practical guidance, resolving workplace issues, and fostering a positive, respectful, and high-performing work environment.
  • Advise and coach managers on performance management, employee development, disciplinary actions, documentation, performance improvement plans, accommodations, leaves of absence, organizational changes, and other related matters, ensuring decisions are consistent, well-supported, appropriately documented, and compliant with Mexican labor laws and Company policies.
  • Lead and manage employee relations matters, including conducting prompt, thorough, and impartial workplace investigations by gathering and evaluating relevant facts, interviewing appropriate individuals, identifying issues, potential risks, and policy violations, determining appropriate courses of action, recommending well-supported corrective action, and recognizing when complex, high-risk, or sensitive matters require consultation with or escalation to the Director of People & Culture, leadership, or external legal counsel.
  • Manage the full-cycle talent acquisition process for Mexico, including workforce planning, job description development, sourcing, candidate screening, interviewing, selection, offer negotiation, pre-employment requirements, onboarding, and new hire orientation to attract and retain high-quality talent.
  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process for Mexico in partnership with the external payroll provider, Finance, and other stakeholders by preparing payroll incident reports, reviewing and validating payroll inputs and outputs, resolving discrepancies, responding to employee payroll inquiries, maintaining accurate payroll documentation, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and timely, and holding external payroll vendors accountable for high-quality service delivery.
  • Administer employee benefits and leave programs, responding to employee inquiries, coordinating with external vendors, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with applicable legal and Company requirements.
  • Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain People & Culture policies, procedures, guidelines, templates, employment documents, and employeecommunications to ensure legal compliance, operational consistency, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Mexican labor laws, regulatory developments, and HR best practices, proactively assessing potential business impacts and recommending updates to policies, practices, and processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, complete, confidential, and audit-ready employee records, personnel files, employee relations documentation, payroll records, compliance documentation, and HRIS records in accordance with applicable privacy laws, record-keeping requirements, Company policies, and document retention requirements.
  • Partner with leaders, global People & Culture team members, and cross-functional teams to support organizational initiatives, workforce planning, change management, restructures, acquisitions, integrations, compliance initiatives, and other strategic People & Culture projects across the region.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive Human Resources experience in Mexico with hands-on responsibility for core HR functions.
  • Professional fluency in both English and Spanish is required, with the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong employee relations experience, including conducting workplace investigations, managing performance and disciplinary matters, overseeing involuntary terminations, resolving employee conflicts, maintaining thorough documentation, and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
  • Proven ability to manage full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, candidate selection, extending offers, and onboarding.
  • Experience administering payroll and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican labor laws and their application to a broad range of HR matters.
  • Sound judgment with the ability to identify employment, legal, and compliance risks and appropriately elevate complex or high-risk issues.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence, coach, and build credibility with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with HRIS, Microsoft Office Suite, and other HR-related systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and critical-thinking skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage competing priorities with minimal supervision while knowing when to appropriately elevate complex or high-risk matters.
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally, as business needs require.
