Formación

Preferred locations: US: Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Columbus, Milwaukee, Indianapolis markets, Mexico: Apodaca, Queretaro, Reynosa.

Salary Range (US Market, annual): USD99,136–148,704 (Applicable only to the U.S.; Mexican pay scales may vary)

We are excited to offer an outstanding opportunity at Danfoss as a Payroll Tax & Compliance Specialist for the US and Canada. In this key role, you will ensure full compliance with payroll tax regulations, oversee reporting requirements, and maintain robust payroll controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance Management: Oversee payroll tax regulations across US states and Canadian provinces, stay updated on tax law changes, and ensure timely implementation.
  • Audit & Controls: Ensure compliance with audit requirements, establish strong payroll controls, support internal and external audits, and implement corrective actions.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Manage and submit payroll tax filings and remittances promptly, track and report statutory benefits, deductions, and taxes, and maintain accurate documentation for audit trails.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with HR, Finance, and Payroll teams for smooth payroll processing, partner with IT to optimize payroll software and data accuracy, and provide guidance and training on compliance matters.
  • Employee Inquiries & Support: Address employee concerns on taxes, deductions, and compliance, and review tax issues related to benefits, garnishments, and deductions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, CPP certification (highly preferred), ACPA certification (a plus for Canadian compliance).
  • Experience: 5+ years in payroll tax compliance, knowledge of US and Canadian payroll tax regulations, experience handling audits and compliance matters, familiarity with tax filings and year-end reporting.
  • Skills & Competencies: Strong attention to detail and accuracy, problem-solving skills for complex tax issues, proficiency in payroll systems and controls, excellent organizational and time management skills, effective communication abilities.
