Directive Consulting is the leading B2B performance marketing agency that delivers real revenue—not just leads. We use Customer Generation to cut through the noise and drive pipeline, SQLs, and scalable growth for SaaS and B2B brands. We offer services across Paid Media, SEO, CRO, RevOps, and Go-To-Market Strategy to build marketing engines that win.

We move fast, think boldly, and hire people who challenge the status quo. If you live for performance, love solving hard problems, and want your work to mean something, you’ll fit right in. We shape the future of marketing and are always looking ahead to connect with talented professionals who excel at crafting strategies that elevate search visibility, develop compelling content, and deliver value to audiences in B2B tech and SaaS marketing.

About The Role

The Content Strategist is a crucial, client-facing role responsible for day-to-day client deliverables, creating and managing custom client strategies, and communicating with both clients and internal stakeholders. The Strategist handles more Enterprise clients and should have a deep understanding of our service lines and their impact on other business areas to create a holistic marketing strategy. Note: internally, this role is titled Account Strategist, Content & SEO.

What You'll Do
  • Strategic Excellence and Best Practices: Create custom strategies and implement best practices to achieve NSMs. Build initial client strategy from project phase, then optimize based on goals, campaigns, and performance, aligned with Directive best practices. Collaborate with Associate Director (AsD) when roadblocks arise.
  • Content and Campaign Ideation: Craft creative briefs and content campaigns grounded in competitor and audience insights.
  • Go-to-Best-Practices: Apply best practices to position clients to exceed goals (e.g., LTV:CAC modeling, Customer Generation, Share of SERP, Content Production).
  • Goal Setting: Use data to set client goals, reviewed and approved by the Associate Director in meetings with the client.
  • Data Sources: Google Analytics, CRM data, SEMRush, Ahrefs. All goals must be approved by the AsD before presenting to the client.
  • Project Management: Ensure strategy execution and clarity on responsibilities using Asana. Delegate tasks to team members and clients, ensuring timely completion. Partner with Project Managers where available.
  • Content Collaboration: Work with content writers and designers to deliver on-time content campaigns while upholding client quality standards.
  • Communication: Act as the main interface with clients and internal teams. Proactively communicate timelines, progress, roadblocks, and opportunities, using channels like Slack between bi-weekly meetings.
  • Reporting: Regularly report progress and impact, including bi-weekly client meetings, monthly, quarterly reports, and bi-annual business review presentations.
What You'll Bring
  • Proven track record implementing SEO principles and content strategy (keyword research, on-page optimization, link building).
  • Analytical insight: ability to analyze website traffic and SEO metrics with tools like Google Analytics.
  • Strong communication skills with client-facing experience and stakeholder management.
  • Familiarity with industry tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog.
  • Excellent organizational, project, and time management skills.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for digital marketing, SEO, and content.
  • Agency experience required; B2B tech and/or SaaS experience preferred.
Goals
  • NSM Attainment: 100%
  • MRR Retainment: 96%
  • CSAT > 4.2
  • Upsells / Cross-sells / Referrals
    • Strategists regularly seek growth opportunities for clients, including expanding services or increasing budgets.
    • Referral moments include changes in point of contact or client growth opportunities.
What We Offer

Living wage at Directive with medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance for you and your family. Employer-paid plan for you with 50% employer contribution for dependents.
