Overview

Directive Consulting is the leading B2B performance marketing agency that delivers real revenue—not just leads. We use Customer Generation to cut through the noise and drive pipeline, SQLs, and growth for SaaS and B2B brands. Our services span Paid Media, SEO, CRO, RevOps, and Go-To-Market Strategy, building marketing engines that win in our target industries.

We move fast. We think boldly. We hire people who challenge the status quo and push campaigns to exceed expectations. If you live for performance and solving hard problems, you’ll fit right in. We’re shaping the future of marketing and invite you to build something that breaks the mold.

About The Role

The Content Strategist is a critical, client-facing role responsible for day-to-day client deliverables, creating and managing custom client strategies, and communicating with clients and internal stakeholders. The Strategist works with more Enterprise clients and should have a deep understanding of their service line and how it impacts other areas of business to create a holistic marketing strategy. Internally, this role is titled Account Strategist, Content & SEO.

What You’ll Do
  1. Strategic Excellence and Best Practices: Create custom strategies and implement best practices to achieve NSMs. Use the project phase as a foundation for the initial client strategy, and continuously optimize based on goals, campaigns, and performance while adhering to Directive best practices.

  2. Collaborate with Associate Director (AsD) to address roadblocks and ensure goal attainment. Craft creative briefs and content campaigns informed by competitor and audience insights.

  3. Apply best practices to exceed client goals, including:

    • LTV:CAC modeling
    • Customer Generation
    • Share of SERP
    • Content Production
  4. Goal Setting: Use available data to set client goals during engagement, reviewed and approved by the AsD.

  5. Data sources include Google Analytics, CRM data, SEMRush, and Ahrefs. All goals must be approved by the AsD before presenting to the client.

  6. Project Management: Ensure the strategy is executed, delegating tasks via Asana and coordinating with Specialists and clients to meet deadlines. Partner with Project Managers to ensure tasks are created, assigned, and due dates are met. Collaborate with content writers and designers to deliver high-quality campaigns on time.

  7. Internal and External Communication: Serve as the main interface between clients and the team. Build client relationships beyond deliverables and proactively communicate with clients and internal leadership about timelines, progress, and opportunities. Use channels such as Slack between bi-weekly meetings to share deliverables and updates.

  8. Reporting: Regularly report to clients on strategy progress and impact. Maintain a cadence that includes bi-weekly meetings, monthly reports, quarterly reports, and bi-annual business reviews.

What You’ll Bring
  • A proven track record of implementing SEO principles and content strategy: keyword research, on-page optimization, and link building
  • Analytical insight: ability to analyze website traffic and SEO metrics using tools like Google Analytics
  • Strong communication skills: comfortable client-facing and owning relationships with key stakeholders
  • Familiarity with industry tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog
  • Proven organizational, project, and time management skills
  • Genuine enthusiasm for digital marketing, SEO and content
  • Agency experience required
  • B2B tech and/or SaaS experience required
Goals
  1. NSM Attainment: 100%
  2. MRR Retention: 96%
  3. CSAT > 4.2
  4. Upsells / Cross-sells / Referrals
    1. Strategists should identify opportunities to grow client business with Directive, e.g., expanding services or increasing budgets
    2. Referrals should be encouraged at key moments, such as changes in point of contact or improved CSAT
What We Offer
