Vertiv Co in Mexicali, MX seeks a Production Manager to organize, direct, and control all production activities ensuring volume, quality and cost targets are met within deadlines. You will lead senior and supervisory teams, drive continuous improvement, and maintain health, safety and environmental standards.

Requires 5–7 years in production leadership, a Bachelor’s in engineering, and Six Sigma Green Belt plus ERP/MRP knowledge.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
  • 5–7 years of production management experience.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
  • Understanding of Toyota Production System-based operations.
  • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools.
  • Knowledge of business planning and resource coordination.

Responsabilidades

  • Ensure new employee induction for the perimeter.
  • Directs Sr. supervisors and related functions within the BU.
  • Monitor team competences and implement training plans.
  • Maintain safety, quality, and standards; lead meetings and delegation.
  • Conduct annual appraisals, salary reviews and career interviews.
  • Perform OJT on standards and methodologies daily.
  • Ensure SQCDP performance and profitability targets are met.
  • Lead daily Gemba activities and implement countermeasures.

Descripción del empleo

The Production Manager plans, Organizes, Directs and Controls all the production activities to assure that the production of goods and/or services meet volume, quality and cost requirements within the established timeframe in an efficient manner. SIOP demands for a total of 500+ DL.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that any new employee of his/her perimeter follows an Induction process.
  • Manages directly the Sr. supervisors, supervisors and indirectly (Dotted line) all function related to the Business Unit.
  • Monitor competences for his/her team and develops its autonomy (training plan building, follow-up & training actions implementation).
  • Ensure working standards are respected on its Business Unit during the operations (safety, work instructions, quality, and respect of the product). Ensure that standards of reaction are applied with rigor and perform escalation according to standards. Lead daily, weekly & monthly meetings, and organize delegation.
  • Conduct annual appraisals, salary review, career interviews, succession planning & give feedback. Communicate a mindset of continuous improvement & responsibility vs. targets achievement inside itsBusiness Unit
  • Perform OJT of his/her teams every day on standards & methodologies implemented.
  • Congratulate and recognize its team for improvements.
  • Ensure a positive social climate on his/herBusiness Unit
  • Ensure enforcement of health, safety and environmental rules.
  • Ensure corrective & preventive maintenance of equipment & sustainable TPM.
  • Define work standards with the help of support functions.
  • Be responsible for customer satisfaction.
  • Be accountable for SQCDP performance and profitability (gross margin) of his/her APU, in terms of targets achievement, and improvement.
  • Ensure optimal use of equipment (OEE).
  • Assign & check corrective actions on recurring problems with Business Unitand Plant support departments.
  • Escalate at Site level the issues that can’t be solved at Business Unitlevel. Lead daily Business UnitWar room (SQCDP).
  • Lead workstation ergonomics risk analysis and elimination.
  • Lead every day Gemba activities with his/her team, as TOP 3 issues countermeasures review.
  • Lead & review action plans to improve SQCDP performance (actual and targets).
  • Be responsible for Customer Line Return analysis and solving for products from his/her APU in front of customers.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual 90% English - Spanish.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel).
  • Desired Six Sigma Green Belt certified and exposure to Operative systems based on Toyota Production Systems.
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP system.
  • Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
