Formación

About the Room Operator Role:

The Room Operator is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks in hotel rooms to ensure that all systems and equipment function properly. This position requires technical skills in repair and maintenance, as well as a proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail, always ensuring a quality experience for guests.

What will you do in this role?

  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance in rooms, including air conditioning systems, lighting, plumbing, locks, and appliances to prevent failures.
  • Quick Repairs: Address and repair issues in rooms, such as electrical failures, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, among others, in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Equipment and Room Inspections: Regularly inspect rooms for defects or damage and report them to the maintenance supervisor for prompt resolution.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with housekeeping staff and the front desk team to coordinate room maintenance without disrupting the guest experience.
  • Inventory Management: Control and maintain an adequate inventory of materials and tools necessary for routine repairs and maintenance.
  • Compliance with Regulations: Ensure compliance with all safety, hygiene, and health regulations in all activities performed within the hotel.
  • Reports and Documentation: Document all repairs, tasks performed, and issues resolved, and provide daily reports to the supervisor or maintenance chief.
  • Room Improvements: Propose improvements or upgrades for room facilities or equipment to optimize guest experience and operational efficiency.

What will be necessary for this role?

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of maintenance experience in a hotel environment or a similar position.
  • Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, air conditioning, and repair of appliances and room equipment.
  • Skills: Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently. Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Attitudes: Proactive approach, positive attitude, and willingness to collaborate with other departments and resolve issues quickly.
  • Physical Conditions: Ability to perform manual work, lift heavy objects, and perform tasks in diverse work environments.
  • Language: Proficiency in Spanish is essential. Knowledge of English or other languages is a plus.
