Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage, and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders, and customized management services.

We are seeking a dedicated professional to process and handle ocean import shipments for our customers, ensuring the highest quality standards and providing service solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements and company policies. The role involves ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and best practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Receive and track customer bookings/orders and send shipping instructions overseas according to customer instructions or established SOPs.
  • Notify customers of shipment arrival, charges, delays, and Customs/Exam holds, advising on applicable charges immediately upon notification.
  • Follow the guidelines specified by the company’s business process team.
  • Process Customs Entries, including invoice classification, filing RLF entries, and entering electronic invoices.
  • Manage FDA-related entries.
  • Review and prepare documentation accurately, including Customs classification, I.T. numbers, commercial invoices, and other details.
  • Transmit information to ABI, verify results, and make corrections if necessary, monitoring customs releases and other agencies as applicable.
  • Check Customs release details and handle discrepancies properly.
  • Transmit payment of Customs duties as needed.
  • Manage exceptions with involved parties and customers.
  • Ensure all necessary document copies are properly sequenced in the file.
  • Coordinate entry and break bulk shipments.
  • Work with Sales on account implementation for a smooth transition from sales to operations.
  • Respond to customer requests in line with company standards.
  • Monitor shipments moving on an I.T., providing release, payment, and delivery instructions within the free time.
  • Collect COD monies owed before delivery arrangements.
  • Handle customer contacts regarding exceptions.
  • Ensure high data quality through accurate shipment processing.
  • Provide job costing forecasts and manage payables, receivables, and accruals according to company rules.
  • Collaborate with vendors and overseas offices to dispute incorrect payables promptly.
  • Bill/invoice each file to customers, paying attention to payment terms.
  • Meet Original Bill of Lading requirements timely.
  • Dispatch freight for delivery, maintaining communication with truckers.
  • Confirm POD for shipments and update our system.
  • Update Track and Trace applications.
  • Assist in quoting by providing rates and tariffs.
  • Ensure all necessary documents are filed properly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 3 years’ import experience or equivalent education and expertise
  • Knowledge of import entry procedures, compliance, and regulations preferred
  • Experience with FPOA, FDA, ISF, and OGA transactions preferred
ENVIRONMENT:

100% in a climate-controlled office environment. Travel up to __% may be required. Requires sitting, standing, walking, handling, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Fast-paced environment.
