Molex, a Koch company, is seeking an NPI Tooling Engineer to lead tooling development, validation, and cost-focused improvements for new product introductions. You will collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to ensure tool readiness and compliance with quality and safety standards.

Ideal candidates will have a mechanical or industrial engineering background with mold development, CAD proficiency (SolidWorks/Creo/NX), and experience with GD&T, PFMEA, and DOE methodologies.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field related to tooling or manufacturing.
• Experience in tooling design, mold development, validation, or manufacturing engineering.
• Knowledge of injection molding processes and tooling design.

As an NPI Tooling Engineer, you will play a key role in bringing new products into production by leading tooling development, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, you will support the successful launch of new programs while ensuring tooling solutions meet quality, productivity, safety, and cost objectives throughout the product lifecycle.

Our Team

You will be part of the NPI organization and collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and cross-functional partners to ensure successful tooling development and production readiness for new product introductions. The position reports to the NPI Molding Manager.

What You Will Do

• Lead tooling development and management activities to support new product introductions and manufacturing operations.
• Oversee injection mold and tooling validation activities to ensure quality and production requirements are met.
• Partner with suppliers to support tooling design, development, qualification, and performance improvements.
• Drive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives focused on tooling reliability, productivity, and cost optimization.
• Manage tooling-related project activities and support production launch milestones.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with applicable quality and manufacturing requirements.

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Tooling Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience supporting tooling, mold development, validation, or manufacturing engineering activities.
• Knowledge of injection molding processes and tooling design.
• Experience working with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or equivalent platforms.
• Knowledge of mold qualification, validation, and root-cause analysis methodologies.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience in automotive, medical device, consumer electronics, or other high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of mold construction, cooling systems, gating systems, and hot-runner technologies.
• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Design of Experiments (DOE).
• Experience with multi-cavity molds, automation systems, and mold-flow analysis.
• Knowledge of scientific molding principles and cavity-pressure sensing technologies.
