Molex Nogales seeks a Molding Process Engineer to lead the introduction, qualification, and transfer of injection, liquid injection, liquid silicone, insert, and overmolding tooling and processes in Nogales, Mexico. You will work across functions to meet cost, quality, and timing objectives.

• Lead debugging and qualification of injection molds and processes; resolve tooling design and processing challenges.
• Establish and optimize baseline molding processes to meet cost, quality, and timing goals.
• Coordinate transfer of qualified molds and processes to the manufacturing plant.

As a Molding Process Engineer in Nogales, you will lead the successful introduction, qualification, and transfer of injection, liquid injection, liquid silicone, insert, and overmolding tooling and processes. Working independently across multiple functions, you will help ensure each program meets or exceeds its cost, quality, and timing objectives.

Our Team:

You will be part of the Global Shared Plants division and collaborate closely with Quality, Engineering, Production, Planning, mold manufacturers, designers, and suppliers to develop reliable molding solutions and continuously improve manufacturing methods.

What You Will Do:

• Develop mold design specifications for new insert, component, and overmolding tooling.
• Partner with product development engineers to deliver injection molds and mold components on time and within budget.
• Contribute to mold design, construction, product design, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) reviews to identify opportunities that improve product moldability.
• Establish and optimize baseline molding processes to achieve program cost, quality, and timing objectives.
• Lead the debugging and qualification of injection molds and processes, resolving tooling design, construction, and processing challenges.
• Review quality information and designed parts with Product Engineering and Quality, while maintaining qualification documentation such as tooling prints and quality-control reports.
• Coordinate the transfer of qualified molds and processes to the manufacturing plant.
• Establish optimal molding parameters, ensure production adherence, and take appropriate action when parameters move out of control.
• Research new materials, molding technologies, and suppliers to strengthen manufacturing methods and support continuous improvement.
• Provide training on implemented processes through courses or electronic communications to support positive operational results.
• Support compliance with Principle Based Management, applicable quality-management standards, safety and hygiene requirements, environmental-management systems, Six Sigma, the Responsible Business Alliance, and CTPAT/OAS policies and procedures.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications):

• Professional degree completed.
• Three to five years of hands‑on experience in plastic injection molding processing.
• Advanced conversational English.
• Proven experience with validations of changes, improvements to molding equipment. Design of experiments, for example.

What Will Put You Ahead:

• Degree in Industrial Engineering.
• Knowledge of mold manufacturing processes and engineering molding resins. Preferred this materials: PVC, TPE, TPU and polycarbonate. Silicone is a great plus.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, teamwork, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
• Proficiency with word‑processing tools, spreadsheets, PC applications, and CAD.
• Ability to design experiments and conduct characterisation studies that support process development.
• Experience with capability analysis and Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility studies aligned with Production Part Approval Process requirements.
• Project‑management skills, including the ability to set objectives and priorities and complete projects systematically and on time
