Descripción del empleo

The NPI Project Manager is responsible for working in collaboration with the leadership team to lead cross-functional New Product Introduction projects for high-speed cable cartridge assemblies — managing design transfer through EVT, DVT, PVT, production launch, and mass production ramp, while ensuring adherence to customer and stakeholder requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead NPI projects from design transfer through production launch, developing integrated project plans covering scope, milestones, resources, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and customer commitments.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, Industrial Engineering, and Test Engineering to ensure timely and disciplined execution.
  • Lead manufacturing readiness reviews and ensure required deliverables are completed for each phase‑gate, including process flow, PFMEA, control plans, work instructions, tooling, test readiness, capacity, and training.
  • Maintain project risk registers and issue trackers; lead containment, corrective‑action, and recovery‑plan execution.
  • Coordinate engineering changes, scope changes, schedule impacts, and configuration control throughout the product launch.
  • Plan and execute prototype, qualification, pilot, and production builds, confirming material, equipment, tooling, documentation, staffing, and test capacity are available before each build event.
  • Partner with Planning, Purchasing, and suppliers to manage BOM readiness, long‑lead components, shortages, and material availability against the launch schedule.
  • Coordinate process validation, line qualification, equipment acceptance, test correlation, yield improvement, and production‑ramp activities.
  • Serve as the primary program interface between the Mexicali factory, global product teams, and key internal stakeholders, providing clear status, decisions, risks, and recovery plans.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of project or program management experience in electronics, connectors, cable assembly, semiconductor, automotive, or other high‑volume manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience managing NPI, product transfer, manufacturing launch, or complex cross‑functional projects from development through production ramp.
  • Strong project‑management skills, including schedule development, milestone tracking, resource coordination, risk management, issue escalation, and executive reporting.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and quality tools such as PFMEA, control plans, process validation, SPC, root‑cause analysis, corrective action, and change control.
  • Working knowledge of high‑speed cable assemblies, electronic interconnect products, and product qualification is preferred.
  • PMP, APQP, or equivalent formal project‑management training is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project; ERP/MRP, Power BI, and SharePoint are a plus.
  • Results‑oriented with a focus on on‑time launch and cost control.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to align technical, operational, and commercial stakeholders across multiple sites and time zones.
  • Advanced English and excellent communication skills in Spanish and English.
