We are searching for the best talent for NPI Process Excellence Director.

Purpose:

Plans and directs overall process excellence activities. Coordinates the creation, development, design, and improvement of new products in conformance with established programs and objectives. Provides process excellence advice and assistance to other departments. This role is accountable for providing leadership to support the Electrophysiology Lifecycle Engineering process.

Responsible for developing and implementing Lean for New Products enabling the J&J Production System, Problem Solving, and Manufacturing Maintenance Excellence principles and tools.

The NPI Process Excellence Director is responsible for driving key strategic business process improvement for new products, Lead, analyze, design, and improve manufacturing and business processes by enlisting and influencing cross-functional and cross-site teams, delivering tangible business results through the application of problem solving and Lean principles methodologies. Utilizing business, leadership and technical skills, collaborates and partners with stakeholders across multiple functions to develop and execute continuous improvement strategies

This position ensures the development and execution of quality work enabling effective and compliant medical device production/sustaining. In collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Commercial and Supply Chain organizations, this role ensures the success of Electrophysiology new products introduction strategies and reliable supply of high-quality products. This leader works collaboratively with Johnson & Johnson leaders to implement Process Excellence programs and new technologies to improve Supply Reliability, overall quality and regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, advance innovation, enhance organizational capabilities and diversity.

You will be responsible for :

Under general direction and in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Responsible for delivering process performance improvements around Quality, Product Supply, and Cost.
  • Formulate strategies as well as the necessary resource requirements, timeline and change management tools.
  • Collaborate and partner with stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Provides guidance to the New Product Introduction organization in their principal responsibilities:

Lean principles, Metrics, JJPS, Six Sigma, Manufacturing & Maintenance Excellence and leadership deployment.

  • Responsible for developing Lean and 6 sigma capabilities within the Electrophysiology

Manufacturing Network through the development and implementation of training programs and organizational Learning.

  • Foster a continuous improvement culture.Create sustained business improvement results through the application of Lean Principles.
  • Contribute to the supply chain cost improvement program.
  • Support Electrophysiology Product Portfolio partnering with R&D and NPI organization.
  • Lead the strategic planning process. Responsible for creating and maintaining the short term and long term, strategic plan in collaboration with the New Product Introduction organization.
  • Responsible for ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition.
  • Responsible for ensuring personnel and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed.
  • Follows and observes all regulatory requirements (GMP's, ISO, FDA, internal policies) applicable to area of responsibility.

SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages a team of Engineers and Technicians.
  • Is responsible for the complete direction and evaluation of his/her work team.
  • Directs his/her team according to the applicable policies and laws.
  • His/her responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing their work, monitoring their development, rewarding and discipline employees, assign complaints and solve conflicts.
  • Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to next management level
  • Responsible for ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required in Engineering.
  • Certified Black Belt is preferred.
  • Candidate must be able to document successful prior leadership, training delivery, deployment of Lean Principles and re-engineering manufacturing and transactional processes, hands on experience leading these strategies is required.
  • Experience including both Six Sigma and Lean methodologies, people management expertise and strong cross-functional business acumen is required.
  • Experience in other total quality management methods such as re-engineering, problem solving, project management is preferred.
  • Some familiarity with FDA, GMP and ISO requirements is required.
  • Strong computer skills such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio is preferred.
  • An in-depth understanding of accounting (standard cost), QSR/ISO requirements, trend analysis and failure rate analysis is preferred.
  • An in-depth understanding of production and quality control techniques such as CFM, JIT, TQM, CIM, is preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills are required.
  • Ability to read blueprints schematics and drawings is preferred.
  • In-depth manufacturing knowledge is required.
  • Must understand and have ability to analyze market requirements and opportunities for product lines.
  • 12+ years overall business experience. Talent Development experience is a must.
  • Ability to develop people, manage technology, embrace financial goals, and utilize customer-focused decision making.
  • Change management, project management, the ability to work effectively and drive alignment in a global environment through strong communication and empowerment.
  • Must demonstrate working knowledge of process development and validation, including design of experiments, statistical analysis and project management.
