Job summary

Molex in Mexico is seeking an experienced NPI Buyer to drive purchasing through the entire NPI/NPD lifecycle, from prototype builds to SOP and ramp-up. You will partner with Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure material readiness, competitive costs, and on-time launches while mitigating supply risks across complex electronic components.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field (Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business).
5+ years in Purchasing/Procurement with NPI/NPD experience.
Experience sourcing electronic components (PCB/PCBA, semiconductors, connectors).
Experience with BOM management, MRP, engineering changes, lead times, MOQs, AML/AVL.
Strong negotiation, analytics, and risk management skills.
Advanced English proficiency for global collaboration.

Responsibilities

Lead purchasing activities for NPI/NPD programs from prototype through SOP and ramp-up.
Ensure material and supplier readiness aligns with milestones and launch requirements.
Procure electronic and automotive components (PCB/PCBA, semiconductors, connectors, etc.).
Manage BOMs, engineering changes (ECR/ECO/ECN), lead times, AML/AVL, obsolescence risks.
Identify single-source, long-lead-time, constrained components and develop mitigations.
Support RFQs, supplier selection, negotiations, and cost analysis (TCO).
Collaborate with Engineering and Quality on alternate sourcing, APQP/PPAP, launch requirements.
Monitor supplier capacity, delivery commitments, and performance; escalate risks.
Coordinate transition of NPI programs into sustained production.
