Inventus Power México seeks a results‑oriented procurement professional to translate New Product requirements into executable sourcing and supplier strategies. You will lead NPI procurement, coordinate with Engineering, Quality and suppliers, and ensure new products launch on time and at target cost through qualified suppliers.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years as NPI buyers, experience in local supplier sourcing, and strong knowledge of lean/continuous improvement.

Formación

  • Experience leading sourcing for new components with local suppliers.
  • Knowledge of lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent command of English and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsabilidades

  • Coordinate PPAP, WAR, supplier qualification and other procurement deliverables.
  • Interface with NPD, Engineering, Quality, Materials and suppliers.
  • Develop procurement schedules aligned with project milestones and budget.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will be a results-oriented procurement professional who can translate New Product requirements into executable sourcing and supplier strategies. Success in the role requires balancing Quality, Delivery, Cost, supplier capability, project timing, and long-term commodity strategy while maintaining accountability for successful product launches.

The New Product Procurement / Sourcing Specialist is responsible for leading procurement and supplier activities supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs from initial concept through successful production launch. This position serves as the primary Supply Chain/Procurement interface with New Product Development teams, Engineering, Quality, Materials, Buyers, Commodity Management, and suppliers.

The role is accountable for ensuring new products launch on time, at target cost, with qualified suppliers and complete procurement deliverables. The position will develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with global and regional commodity strategies, identify and develop capable suppliers, negotiate competitive commercial agreements, and coordinate the transition of purchased components, tooling, and materials into production.

Key Responsibilities
New Product Introduction & Project Procurement
  • Own procurement activities for assigned New Product Introduction projects from development through production launch
  • Ensure timely, complete, and accurate submission of PPAP, risk-buy (WAR), supplier qualification, and other required procurement documentation.
  • Act as the primary Procurement/Supply Chain interface for New Product teams and supplier communications.
  • Participate in project budget, timing, sourcing, and schedule discussions to ensure project expectations align with supply-base capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain procurement schedules aligned with overall project milestones.
  • Coordinate Engineering sample lots, prototypes, tooling, fixtures, gauges, capital equipment, and production materials.
  • Execute and coordinate purchase orders for development and pre-production requirements.
  • Track and coordinate part readiness through established CTB (Clear to build) processes.
  • Coordinate material transition from development to production with Materials, Operations, Quality, Engineering, and suppliers.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCES

Education Background: Buisness Administration or Industrial Engieering Degree

Work Experience
  • 3-5 years experience as NPI buyer
  • Experience leading sourcing efforts for new components in local supplier base
  • Good knowledge of engineering, production and process techniques such as lean and continuous improvement.

Fluent in English - 95%

Computational knowledge:

Excel, Word, Power Point (Microsoft office sotfware) ERP system (SAP, Oracle, QAD desire)
