Vertiv Co seeks an NPDI Lead Engineer for Liquid Cooling (TCS/SFN) to drive NPDI projects from concept to product launch. You will own design standards, create reusable modules, and lead cross‑functional teams worldwide in a fast‑paced environment.

The role requires expert Creo skills, PLM experience, and a track record of leading NPDI efforts with ASME/ASHRAE standards for liquid cooling systems.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in piping and fluid systems, preferably in data center cooling.
• Expert proficiency with PTC Creo for assemblies, layouts, routing, and detailed drawings.
• Strong working knowledge of PLM systems (Oracle PD Cloud, Windchill).
• Proven record of leading NPDI projects using Stage Gate or equivalent processes.
• Hands‑on validation experience (pressure/leak testing, flow/thermal testing).
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).

NPDI Lead Engineer - Liquid Cooling (TCS/SFN)

Seeking a NPDI Lead Engineer - Liquid Cooling (TCS/SFN) with expertise in Technical Cooling Systems (TCS) / Secondary Fluid Networks (SFN) or broader piping and fluid systems to lead NPDI projects for TCS/SFN and drive the development of next-generation liquid cooling distribution solutions. The role is responsible for setting design standards, leading the team and projects globally, ensuring integration across NPDI, Application Engineering, and ETO, and mentoring engineers to build global consistency. The position requires deep technical skills in fluid and piping systems, expert proficiency with Creo, strong PLM experience, and the ability to define and own tools and processes that streamline layout creation, quoting, and product development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead TCS/SFN design deliverables through all NPDI stages, from concept to product launch, ensuring technical robustness and manufacturability.
• Define and develop standard TCS/SFN modules (headers, manifolds, valves, fittings, hoses, expansion tanks, filters, quick disconnects) for reuse across platforms.
  Create and manage PTC Creo models, design libraries, and assemblies for TCS/SFN components and systems.
• Perform system sizing and validation, flow balancing, pressure drop, NPSH margin, valve Cv selection, and pump/loop analysis.
• Oversee prototype builds, validation test plans, and test execution (pressure, leak, flow/thermal, cleanliness, condensation/dew point).
• Work in PLM systems (e.g., Oracle PD Cloud, Windchill) to manage BOMs, drawings, engineering changes, and product documentation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with global engineering, operations, supply chain, and quality to align TCS/SFN design with product roadmap goals.
• Ensure integration across Application Engineering, NPDI, and ETO projects to drive consistency, reuse, and customer alignment.
• Drive supplier engagement, define specifications, support RFQs, and validate supplier designs for manufacturability and cost effectiveness.
• Provide technical ownership of future configurator and rapid layout tools (e.g., CPQ-Creo integration, Revit) to streamline quoting and design processes.
• Mentor mechanical engineers and review custom order learnings to feed back into NPDI modules and roadmap planning.
• Ensure adherence to ASME/ASHRAE standards and internal design guidelines for liquid-cooled piping systems.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in piping and fluid systems, preferably in data center liquid cooling, HVAC, hydronics, or process cooling, with direct experience in Technical
• Cooling Systems (TCS) / Secondary Fluid Networks (SFN) highly desirable.
• Expert proficiency with PTC Creo for assemblies, layouts, routing, and detailed drawings.
• Strong working knowledge of PLM systems (e.g., Oracle PD Cloud, Windchill) for BOM management, engineering change control, and design lifecycle management.
• Proven record of leading NPDI projects using Stage Gate or equivalent processes, ensuring integration across application engineering, NPDI, and ETO workflows.
• Hands‑on validation experience including pressure/leak testing, flow and thermal testing, cleanliness protocols, and condensation/dew point checks.
• Knowledge of ASME and ASHRAE guidelines for liquid cooling and piping systems.
• Deep expertise in DFM/DFA principles, weld/braze methods, and supplier fabrication processes.
• Strong documentation skills, including preparation of PFDs, P&IDs, test reports, engineering change orders, and sustaining handoffs.
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with global engineering teams across regions.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Proven ability to define and own engineering tools and configurators that enable rapid layout creation, quoting, and design reuse.

Preferred Skills

• Direct experience with TCS/SFN systems for high-density data centers, AI, or HPC applications.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling for loop balancing, pressure-drop analysis, and system sensitivity studies.
• Exposure to CFD or other thermal/fluid simulation tools.
• Experience with sanitary or high-cleanliness stainless-steel piping, orbital welding, flushing, passivation, and contamination control.
• Experience with PP-R/PP-RCT or other engineered polymer piping systems.
• Experience overseeing prototype builds, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and validation reporting.
• Experience with modular/prefabricated liquid-cooling systems, CPQ tools, Creo automation, or Revit workflows.
