We are currently recruiting for an experienced NPD Quality Engineer based in our site in Aguascalientes.
In this role, you will be responsible for making sure we comply with Sensata’s New Product Development and launch APQP process and customer’s specifications.
General Responsibilities
- Introduce and coordinate Sensata New Product Development and Change Management Processes to NBOS and other Projects.
- Perform Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities in quick paced environment with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Create Effective Safe Launch Plans to Ensure Highest Quality levels.
- Coordinate and Document PPAP Activities (Internal and External) from Level 1 to Level 5.
- Initiate and manage all corrective actions required during launch.
- Full adherence with all NPD 4.0 process and procedures.
- Obtain and flow down customer specific requirements to launch team.
- Conduct the planning, implementing, and managing compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution.
- Handle design methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products.
- Conduct analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary.
- Develop methods for testing, sampling, and training.
- May act as internal consultant by providing technical guidance on most complex projects.
- Work with quality inspection supervisors to train and oversee inspectors in their use of control forms, procedures, and correcting quality problems.
Experience / Qualifications
- A university degree required (i.e. Bachelor’s degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Hands on working experience with AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA).
- VDA & IATF Quality Management Systems knowledge and or internal auditor experience.
- Shop floor / hands on experience as a Quality Engineer, with minimum of 5 years’ job experience.
- Program management skills (ability to manage time and resources to accomplish tasks).
- Ability to work independently and within our teams.
- Robust communication skills (written & verbal) in English and EU languages.
- Electrical component and circuitry knowledge highly recommended.
- Capability to drive positive change in our processes and products.
- MS Office, Oracle / Agile, Customer Web Portal capabilities.
- New Product Launch experience, preferred in electronic components, and 1 + yrs job experience.
- Ability to travel to individual Sensata, customer or sub supplier sites.
- Hold team accountable to comply with Sensata New Product Development / Agile processes.
- Capture, document, apply Lessons Learned from NPD launches (Good and /or Poor experiences). Use them to build a stronger NPD system and proactive approach for future launches.
Additional Responsibilities
- Lead problem solving activities cross functionally within Sensata and the customer.
- Coach and mentor Operational Quality Engineers at make site.
- Monitor post launch phase with make site Operational Quality Engineers to capture lessons learned and effect a controlled handover.
- Design, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
- Conduct the planning, implementing, and managing compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution.
- Handle design methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products.
- Conduct analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary.
- Develop methods for testing, sampling, and training.
- May act as internal consultant by providing technical guidance on most complex projects.
