Job summary

G&W Electric Co is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for our NPD Engineering team. You will design components and assemblies using CAD, perform tolerance analyses, and ensure manufacturability through DFMA principles.

The role involves prototyping, functional testing, and cross-functional collaboration to drive release and validation while adhering to industry standards and reliable engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years in a technical engineering role with CAD experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong presentation skills.
• Strong analytical design and quantitative problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• 3D CAD modelling for components and assemblies to solve problems.
• Design and dimension parts for molding, machining, and DFM.
• Prepare models for prototyping, 3D printing, and FEA analyses.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation of designs.
• Understand standards (IEEE, NEC, IEC, ANSI, UL, NEMA).
• Collaborate cross-functionally to drive release and validation processes.
• Identify root causes and drive improvements across the department.
