In this position...

As a Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) Site Engineer at Ford Motor Company, you are a key technical interface between Ford and its supply base, accountable for ensuring flawless program launches and robust ongoing production support.

This role focuses on supplier manufacturing readiness, risk mitigation, capacity assurance, and compliance with Ford’s quality and performance requirements.

Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor of Science/ Engineering, or academic equivalent
  • At least 4 years of experience in similar roles in the automotive industry
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process of EDS (Electrical Distribution System) wire harness in low voltage and/or high voltage
  • Proficient in English when working with global teams

Responsibilities
  • Drive flawless product launches at assigned supplier sites, ensuring PPAP compliance and resolving supplier quality issues, with prompt escalation and "date to green" plans as required.
  • Conduct on-site evaluation visits for priority commodities and new programs, adhering to the GPDS supplier engagement process.
  • Manage and resolve supplier process capacity issues by supporting capacity studies, reviewing Capacity Analysis Reports (CARs), and driving uplift actions and constraint risk mitigation.
  • Implement robust Supplier Failure Mode Avoidance through PFMEA, SCCAF, CP reviews, manufacturing feasibility reviews, and health chart deployment.
  • Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing excellence and quality performance, utilizing methodologies such as Q1-MSA, G8D, and various quality performance requirements (e.g., Q1, QR, TGW).
  • Lead the resolution of critical supplier quality issues, including those related to Stop Ship/Build, BSAQ projects, and Field Action Stop Ship/Prevent Action.
  • Conduct new supplier site evaluations and risk assessments to support new sourcing initiatives and identify effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with special processes, organizational and corporate training requirements, and the SIM process.
