Descripción de la vacante

Buckland is seeking an Air Operations Supervisor to oversee daily operations in the Mexico corridor. The role requires guiding a team of 15–20, ensuring efficient customer service, tariff research, and compliance with cross-border customs rules.

You will coordinate with IT to refine procedures, identify cost savings, and support billing with accurate data. A bachelor’s degree and 4+ years in customs or trade are required, with English/Spanish bilingual capability.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in International Trade, Logistics, Business or related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years proven customs, compliance, or international trade experience.
  • Knowledge of Annex 24 and IMMEX program.
  • Leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • High level of organization, time management and attention to detail.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English.
  • Full understanding of customs regulations in applicable country.
  • Intermediate MS Office knowledge.

Responsabilidades

  • Provide the highest level of customer service to clients, vendors, and service providers.
  • Tariff research and classification of goods to comply with Canadian, Mexican and US customs regulations (as applicable).
  • Assist Team Leaders, Customs Account Analyst and Customer Service Representatives in problem solving and addressing errors accordingly.
  • Monitors, supervise and measure team performance across all task in Air, Land and Ocean Logistics as applicable to achieve company defined goals and KPI's.
  • Handling requests from internal and external clients in a prioritized, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Consults with the Manager on problems related to client data and complex imports.
  • Assist with developing and implementing written work instructions and procedures per operation/client needs.
  • Working in conjunction with IT to develop/refine work instructions from initial request to production as needed.
  • Assist with identifying and implementing cost reductions initiatives.
  • Provide all necessary information to the billing team for billing purposes.
  • Provide afterhours support as required either on site or by on call through company cell phone.
  • Preparation of import/export forms and internal documents to comply with customs regulations when required.
  • Manage a network of MX customs clearance partners and drayage companies to ensure successful coverage
  • Responsible for ensuring direct reports are working towards meeting departments KPIs.
  • Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Ability to manage a group of 15 to 20 employees.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Assign tasks to team members.
  • Hire and Terminate employees.
  • Assists with training and guidance of direct reports.
  • Monitor work volumes of direct reports to ensure entries are completed to customs regulations guidelines.
  • Supervise team members, conduct team meetings, monitor attendance, and work schedules.

What You’ll Be Doing

This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operations of the company's operations department. This includes managing the operation staff, ensuring efficient customer service, and overseeing all operational processes. The Operations Supervisor will be a key leader and will assist with developing and implementing strategies and plans to improve department efficiency and customer service.

You will be responsible for
