A leading company in electronics manufacturing is seeking a highly organized Purchasing & Administrative Assistant to join their team in Tijuana. This full-time role involves managing purchasing activities, providing administrative support to the Plant Manager, and coordinating logistics for visitors. Ideal candidates will have 1–3 years of relevant experience and strong communication skills, both in English and Spanish, to support operations and enhance vendor relations.
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Purchasing & Administrative Assistant to support our operations. This dual-role position will manage purchasing activities for MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and
Operations) supplies while also providing direct administrative support to the
Plant Manager. Additional responsibilities include managing petty cash and coordinating transportation and logistics for visitors.
MRO Purchasing (50%)
- Source and procure MRO materials, consumables, tools, and service-related items.
- Generate and track purchase orders; ensure timely deliveries and proper documentation.
- Maintain updated vendor contacts and negotiate pricing when applicable.
- Monitor inventory levels and respond to purchase requests from production, engineering, and maintenance.
- Identify and develop local suppliers for consumables used in electronics manufacturing and packaging (e.g., soldering supplies, ESD materials, labels, foam, boxes, protective packaging).
- Evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, lead time, and service level.
- Build and maintain a database of reliable regional vendors to reduce lead times and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal teams to validate and qualify new suppliers.
Administrative Support (30%)
- Provide daily administrative support to the Plant Manager (calendar management, meeting preparation, follow-ups).
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and internal documentation.
- Help organize internal events, trainings, and coordinate external visits.
Petty Cash & Visitor Logistics (20%)
- Manage and reconcile petty cash (caja chica) according to internal policies.
- Coordinate ground transportation and lodging for visitors (e.g., border pickups, hotel bookings, airport transfers).
- Act as the main point of contact for visitor logistics and external vendors.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, administrative, or operations support roles.
- Experience in MRO procurement or manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and ERP or purchasing systems.
- English level: Upper Intermediate to Advanced (must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with international teams and visitors).
