About the Job

This position is based at our plant in Querétaro, Qro.

The Molding Process Engineer at KI Industries Inc. will be responsible for maintaining statistical process control in the automotive sector. Key duties include developing technical documentation for IATF 16949 compliance, conducting audits to identify variances, and developing solutions to reduce scrap rates.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and update FMEA for molding processes according to IATF standards.
2. Create flow diagrams for the molding area aligned with IATF standards.
3. Maintain SPC in molding processes to ensure product quality.
4. Utilize 8D problem-solving methodology to identify and address issues.
5. Manage new mold releases using SIM technology.
6. Conduct machine studies for qualification and rating of automotive or appliance machines.
7. Analyze scrap data to identify root causes of top issues.
8. Create run best statistics to optimize mold and machine performance.
9. Perform LPA audits and BOM reviews to identify and correct process non-conformities.
10. Ensure proper functioning of machines, tooling, and peripheral equipment, adhering to quality and maintenance standards.
11. Comply with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, VDA, and other relevant standards regarding operational competencies and environmental management.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and ability to interpret IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Basic understanding of resins and injection molding processes.
• Familiarity with Core Tools, electricity, hydraulics, basic electronics, and engineering resins.
• Experience with tooling and peripheral equipment.

Experience

Minimum of 2+ years in a related role.

Education

B.S. in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
